Position Summary: We are looking for an experienced Senior Cost Accounting Manager, reporting to the VP, Controller. You will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of company-wide accounting on inventory valuation, inventory management, LCM & warranty reserves, revenue and COGS by providing process knowledge, technical expertise, business collaboration, and reporting leadership, with a strong desired to improve processes and controls. You must be a leader, have experience in managing teams, be detail oriented, have strong organization and communication skills, and be hands-on. You are a well-rounded performer who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is focused on process improvement and has the passion to excel. Duties and Responsibilities

• Products standard cost conversion, review and update
• Review Bill of Material (BOM) & partner with operations team to ensure BOM accuracy and manufacturing cost impact on financials
• Perform variance analysis (e.g., PPV, Cost Revaluation variances), investigate large variances and provide recommendations for improvement
• Manage the month/quarter end close process related to inventory, return, warranty, revenue and COGS
• Prepare and maintain monthly account reconciliations/analyses for balance sheet and income statement accounts related to inventory, return, warranty, revenue and COGS
• Quarterly analysis of LCM, excess and obsolete inventory and suggest reserves, direct labor, OH calculations and update overhead rates
• Quarterly review and analysis of warranty related charges and true-up warranty reserves
• Assist in the development of the accounting team, including staffing, performance management, and training
• Assist with preparation and development of the company's annual, long range plan (LRP) and rolling forecasts with respect to gross margin
• Leading the annual budgeting and planning process, incorporating sensitivity and risk analysis, and generating departmental budgets and targets with respect to COGS
• Constantly drive improvements to processes through automation, internal controls and GAAP reporting
• Serve as a finance business partner and contributor to profitable growth strategies by facilitating the development of the management reporting framework to support the growth of the company and its strategic and operational segments, including the design of new reports to provide innovative information to manage the business more effectively
• Identify information gaps and bridge gaps through process design, and re-engineering as it relates to reporting and forecasting by forging meaningful relationships with departmental heads and become a trusted partner, highlighting risks, opportunities and insights
• Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to participating in special projects, system improvements or adhoc analyses/projects as assigned Qualifications for this Role
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business or Finance
  • 10+ year experience in a finance environment with strong computer/system skills; Excel, Word, QuickBooks,
  • Experience with major ERP system (NetSuite preferred) and related to manufacturing processes is desirable
  • Strong grasp of accounting concepts, e.g. GAAP, ASC 330, revenue recognition, financial statement analysis, etc.
  • Proven analytical and financial modeling skills using advanced Excel knowledge
  • Excellent financial and business acumen with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Demonstrated strategic, management, analytical, and organizational skills with executive presence and ability to drive results at all levels of the organization and the additional skill of assuming a leadership role in driving cost accounting excellence
  • Strong cost accounting and inventory experience.
  • Medical device environment or similar industry is a huge plus
  • Experience in cost accounting, budgeting, standard cost modeling, and financial analysis
  • Experience with database programs and other ERP systems
