Buyer reports to the Sr. Manager of Art & Design Operations and
will help streamline,consolidate and centralize external art and
design resources, manage schedules and define processes, aswell as
forecast and help build for future capacity and program needs.
Additional responsibilities includeday to day operations for rights
clearance and usage, budget reconciliation, and vendor
contractmanagement. The Art Buyer engages directly with
cross-departmental partners, creative leadership andvendors to
support production and new initiatives.The ideal candidate has
proven experience as a creative problem solver, including
workingcollaboratively in a fast-paced work environment, mentoring
new staff, and optimizing performance andproductivity as the
organization scales. Expert skills in communication and attention
to detail, as well asan established track record in collaborating
successfully with in-house Art/Design, Editorial, Sales,
andMarketing teams are key.Responsibilities--- Research, manage and
maintain external art and design resources, including but not
limited tophotographers, illustrators, retouchers, stock art
sources and freelance designers with a focus oncost savings and
offshore options--- Streamline, centralize and consolidate vendor
and resource processes to increase internal capacityand program
efficiency--- Vendor scheduling; primarily photography and
freelance design services--- Point person for rights and usage---
Work with Senior Manager of Asset Management to audit art assets on
the DAM--- Manage internal rights clearance requests--- Onboard and
setup new vendors--- Cultivate creative resource support with a
service mindsetQualifications--- At least 5 years art production
experience in a high-volume creative environment--- Expertise in
developing rigorous, process-oriented art and production
workflows--- Proven expertise acquiring and cultivating
photography, illustration, retouching, studio, and artresearch
resources--- Proven expertise negotiating favorable pricing and
licensing terms for photography andillustration--- Superior cost
and resource management skills--- Superior organizational skills
with the ability to effectively multi-task, prioritize, and meet
tightdeadlines--- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving
skills, with great attention to detail--- Excellent verbal,
written, and interpersonal skills--- Adaptability in a fast-paced
and dynamic startup environment--- Bachelor's degree preferred---
Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop; familiarity with Adobe Illustrator
and InDesign--- Bachelor's degree in Photography or Fine Art, or
