Job Summary & ResponsibilitiesJob SummaryThe Accountant II maintains financial records and ensures that financial transactions are properly recorded. Ensures the accuracy of entries to ledger accounts and reconciles subsidiary ledger accounts to the general ledger. An Accountant II prepares balance sheets, profit and loss statements and other financial reports. Analyzes current costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations incurred to predict future revenues and expenses.Essential Functions - - - - - - - - Read and understand ASC842 lease accounting standards and apply knowledge to accounting transactions, records, and financial reporting. - - - - - - - - Review Accounts Payable activities to ensure accuracy of expense coding and to utilize as a means of preparing monthly expense accruals. - - - - - - - - Prepares and ensures accuracy and integrity of accounting and transactional records to ensure proper financial reporting. - - - - - - - - Partners with internal stakeholders with budget planning and compliance. - - - - - - - - Prepare monthly account reconciliations; research and resolved identified discrepancies in a timely manner.Key Skills - - - - - - - - Demonstrates working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles. - - - - - - - - Demonstrates excellent communication skills both written and oral, with the ability to flex communication styles to meet the needs of the internal or external stakeholders. - - - - - - - - Demonstrated working proficiency with most enterprise level financial management software applications. - - - - - - - - Demonstrates strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including advanced Excel skills.Management - - - - - - - - This position has no people management responsibilities.Qualifications Education - - - - - - - - Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance or related field and/or applicable military experience.Preferred Education - - - - - - - - Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance or related field and/or applicable military experience.Experience - - - - - - - - 2+ years of accrual basis financial accounting.Preferred Experience - - - - - - - - 2+ years of general financial accounting in medical services with enterprise level accounting software experience. - - - - - - - - 2+ years of experience with general accepted accounting principles.
