Lead Staff Accountant works under the supervision of the Accounting
Manager, providing management with financial information by
researching and analyzing information from the general ledger
system and from reports from other departments. Responsibilities
include maintenance of Government Contracts, including proper
allocation/distribution of accounts receivable, general ledger, and
financial reporting in accordance with generally accepted
accounting principles. Staff Accountant maintains financial
reports, records, and general ledger, prepares and analyzes budgets
and performs general bookkeeping, and assists in the month-end

RESPONSIBILITIES--- Ensure proper accounting and reporting of
assigned government grants, which includes year-end calculations of
accounts receivable and deferred revenue.--- Prepare monthly
government contract invoices and submit them by the contract
deadline, which includes creating monthly revenue entries and
reconciliations.--- Process subcontractor invoices, including
review and submission to Accounts Payable.--- Verify that contract
line items are balanced to the general ledger for both monthly and
year-to-date totals, on a monthly basis.--- Review GL for coding
accuracy; create correct coding or remove unallowable expenses as
needed.--- Send monthly reminders to staff to submit timesheet
tracking.--- Coordinate time and activity tracking with managers,
when open positions occur. --- Reconcile and coordinate accounts
receivable balances with city, state, and federal agencies.---
Prepare general ledger entries by maintaining records and files by
cost center and reconciling accounts.--- Maintain accrual expenses,
requesting disbursement and reconciling accounts.--- Perform all
monthly balance sheets and other selected account reconciliations,
as assigned.--- Prepare, coordinate and manage consolidated
internal and external financial reports by gathering and analyzing
information from the general ledger system, other departments, and
sub-contractors. --- Assist with the preparation of budgets for
foundations, and customized reports for government funding.---
Payroll experience will be an asset but not requiredABOUT YOU ---
Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance and 4 years' experience.---
Knowledge of MIP accounting software package, Concur software
preferable.--- Proficient with Windows Outlook, Word, and Excel
required.--- Highly organized and flexible in a dynamic
environment.--- Non-Profit experience a plus.--- Strong oral and
written communication skills.--- Must be able to pass a Community
Care Licensing background check.--- ATTENTION TO DETAIL - Ability
to work with a high level of detail, work has a high level of
professional polish down to the smallest details, documents and
products are well thought out and clear, database is organized and
up to date.--- DRIVEN BY ACCOMPLISHMENT - Clarity on project goals

work--- COMPUTER SKILLS -- Proficiency with Microsoft Office

Project, and Outlook. Experience with database systems is a

communication skills including the demonstrated ability to
research, assimilate, and analyze information, compose engaging
messages and present data in a clear and inspiring manner.--- HIGH
LEVEL OF PROFESSIONALISM - A high level of professionalism in work

contacts, presents to others as organized, informed, and
