Reporting to the Director, Corporate Citizenship, the Principal, Corporate Citizenship Reporting & Administration will be responsible for delivering the impact reporting of Blue Shield's Corporate Citizenship / ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) initiatives in partnership with our social impact and sustainability program leads. He/She/They will also lead the team's community investments and grants administration processes while relentlessly identifying opportunities to streamline and improve operational performance for both our nonprofit partners and Blue Shield's internal team. Your Work In this role, you will: Manage the development of our Citizenship / ESG impact reporting, which includes working cross functionally to set standards to support the future capability needs Drive the compilation and reporting of sustainability, social impact, and social justice metrics via dashboards to support impact reporting, benchmarking surveys and award submissions Develop measurement policies and implement governance processes and disclosure controls to ensure completeness and accuracy of Citizenship/ESG reporting Manage and lead a calendar of reporting activities that will form the basis of Corporate Citizenship reporting with clear objectives, roles, and responsibilities, and integrates with data gathering initiatives Lead the Corporate Citizenship team's community investments and grants administration processes. Identify opportunities and implement initiatives to improve operational performance in collaboration with the Citizenship program leads, Global Business Services, Law, and Finance Support the management, reconciliation and monitoring of the Corporate Citizenship budgets and various cost centers in partnership with Finance Plan functional meetings that help the Corporate Citizenship team align work with priorities and better connect to other areas within the function and celebrations to acknowledge great work Conduct external and internal research, data, and insights to inform Corporate Citizenship's short and long-term strategic planning Articulate clear programmatic goals and metrics that advance our Corporate Citizenship strategy and make outcomes meaningful to stakeholders Partner with the program leads and the communications teams to develop compelling and effective communications to internal and external audiences about our Corporate Citizenship efforts Your Knowledge and Experience Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience At least 10 years of relevant experience in a corporate social responsibility, social impact, ESG, and/or sustainability roles, preferably in a reporting capacity. Familiarity in sustainability reporting frameworks (CDP, TCFD, GRI, GRESB, and SASB) a plus Ability to handle many tasks efficiently with a positive attitude, a high level of detail, organization and accuracy within a fast-paced, multi-project, tight deadline environment Demonstrated professionalism and ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality Ability to be proactive, resourceful, and flexible while navigating a large and complex organization Excellent strategic planning skills, solutions-focus, creative problem-solving capability, project management skills and drives for results Strong presentation and writing skills that encompass clear, compelling communications with an ability to develop highly professional content-driven assets like decks, documents, spreadsheets, etc. to communicate & support findings Excellent interpersonal skills with a keen ability to build positive relationships with key internal and external partner representatives and team members Must be proficient with the following software: MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
