Job Description:

-Basic Function:Teachers plan and deliver rigorous, systematic, differentiated and targeted academic instruction to students to ensure students' academic gains are accelerated, significant and measurable.Essential Duties

Teach classes as assignedUtilize effective and research-based academic assessment strategiesCollect and analyze student data results consistently to monitor progress and differentiate instruction to - accelerate academic achievementDifferentiate instructional strategies to ensure students are motivated, engaged, challenged and accommodated based on diverse learning styles -Participate in IEP meetings as assignedPractice identity-safe, culturally-relevant pedagogyProvide students with regular constructive feedback to promote achievementPlan units, lessons, and formative assessmentsCompile and maintain records, such as attendance, behavior, and academic data -Develop positive relationships with school community that are aligned with LPS' culture and valuesContribute to the cultivation of strong and cohesive professional learning communitiesCommunicates clearly and timely with parents/caregivers and colleagues to enhance learning opportunitiesParticipate in site and network professional development, meetings, and events as assigned -Serve on school leadership teams or committees - as assigned -Other Duties
Perform related duties as assigned - -Minimum QualificationsEducation and ExperienceAny combination equivalent to: -
a bachelor's degree from an accredited university -Licensing and Other Requirements -
Valid California Teaching Credential with English Learner Authorization or -a -degree major in the subject area or at least 18 semester units -or 9 upper division semester units in the subject areaEmployment eligibility that may include fingerprints, tuberculosis and/or other employment clearance -Knowledge of:
Instructional programs, methods, and practices that differentiate and accelerate student learning and achievementLeadership development practices and effective supervisionCalifornia standards, curriculum frameworks and current research-based practices and trends related to work scopeCulturally-responsive pedagogy -Adult learning principles and change management theoryEffective professional development practices, including data-based inquiry
-Skills and Ability to:
Motivate, inspire and engage studentsSupport, monitor and evaluate instructional program effectivenessUse and analyze data to - accelerate student achievementGuide students to analyze and improve their study methods and habitsImplement collaborative and team building processesPlan, implement, and monitor high-leverage professional developmentFacilitate dissent and conduct difficult and constructive conversations effectivelyProvide timely and actionable feedbackUse technology to strengthen the teaching/learning processCommunicate effectively both orally and in writingWork effectively across diverse communitiesManage various projects and/or demands demonstrating flexibility and effective time-management skillsWorking Conditions:Environment
