Job Description:
Overview:
Integral Group is hiring Plumbing Design Engineers to be
responsible for developing and executing plumbing systems with
minimal oversight from senior staff. - These roles can be located
in our Oakland, Encino or San Diego offices.
Responsibilities:
Lead the design process and approach for small-medium sized
projectsManage client relationshipsResponsible for review of
project cost estimates and project budgetsProvide training and
review the work of junior staffDelegate design and production tasks
to junior staff, as requiredIdentify critical areas of coordination
for MEP systems and other trades. Work with junior staff to
coordinate plumbing systems.Develop system decision matrices for
review by owner, architect, and design teamOversee the execution of
and/or perform Plumbing and/or Fire Protection system design and
layoutPrepare engineering calculations, equipment sizing and
equipment selectionDevelop performance specifications for fire
suppression systems (preliminary selection of fire pumps, determine
hazard classification of various spaces using NFPA, etc.)Develop
and edit specificationsCoordinate service requirements/connections
with the respective utility and/or municipal agenciesWrite various
reportsEnsure successful completion of Construction Administration
tasksPerform site visits with junior level design staff for
documentation of existing systems and conditionsPerform site visits
with junior level design staff for review of system installation
compliance with construction documentsManage BIM/Revit drafting and
design operations:Ensure maintenance of BIM/Revit and design
filesEnsure Integral design checklist is being followedEnsure
Integral BIM/Revit Standards are being followed - -
Qualifications:
7+ years of design experience in Plumbing systemsBS Architectural
Engineering, BS Mechanical Engineering, BS Plumbing Engineering or
equivalent degree required; or equivalent combination of relevant
coursework and minimum 2+ years'work experience requiredAble to
design various Plumbing system typesAble to read Architectural,
Structural, Electrical drawingsAble to apply prescriptive
requirements of plumbing, building and sprinkler codes (i.e. NFPA,
CPC, CBC, etc.)Knowledge of water efficiency strategies and systems
(rainwater catchment, greywater systems, etc.)Able to perform
accurate detailed site surveysProfessional Engineer (PE), EIT
and/or CPD designations are strongly preferredLEED Accredited
Professional designation is an assetIntegral Group is an equal
