Job Description:
The Data Engineer will be responsible for creating and
maintaining data pipelines between Google BigQuery and vended or
UCR hosted sources in support of a campus wide data warehouse
initiative. This position will support our University Advancement
team using Salesforce as one of their data sources. The incumbent
will utilize various Cloud products/services and tools combined
with Python and GitLab to facilitate the population and ongoing
maintenance of the data warehouse in addition to ensuring data
quality of the data warehouse. Additionally, the Data Engineer will
be expected to understand the data needs of users including how to
get the data, understanding data fields and definitions, and how to
design the data warehouse so that it is easy for users to get the
insights they need. This position will have a dotted line reporting
to University Advancement's Director of Constituent Management and
Technologies.
This position is classified as predominantly remote with occasional
visits to campus as needed. Working hours will be based on Pacific
Standard Time (PST).
This is a two year contract position. Should additional funding be
made available in the future, this position could be converted to a
career appointment or the contract extended.
The full salary range for the Data Engineer is $78,700 - $145,100
annually. However, the pay scale for this position is up to
$133,897 annually. UCR bases salary offers on a variety of
considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications,
experience, and other business and organizational needs.
Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a
UCR staff position. Currently, UCR is unable to sponsor or take
over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff.
As a university employee, you will be required to comply with all
applicable university policies and/or collective bargaining
agreements, as may be amended from time to time. Federal, state, or
local government directives may impose additional requirements.
