About the role: Are you an experienced and driven Senior Software Engineer ready to make a massive impact? Samsara is searching for someone like you to join our Driver Management team. In this role, you will: • Take full ownership of complex features and projects, guiding them from initial concept (0-1) through design, development, launch, and ongoing support. • Bring a customer-focused mindset to all development, balancing the need to iterate quickly and deliver customer wins iteratively. • Collaborate closely with Engineering, Product, and Design stakeholders to translate high-level requirements into robust, scalable features and create sustained and aligned impact. • Mentor and guide more junior engineers on the team. • Champion, role model, and embed Samsara’s cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices Minimum requirements for the role: • 4 years of relevant industry experience in software development. • Strong programming/coding fundamentals with proficiency in at least one of the following: Go, GraphQL, TypeScript, React. • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills, with a demonstrated ability to manage technical discussions. • Experience working on large-scale enterprise software applications An ideal candidate also has: • Experience working with frontend technologies (e.g. React, Redux, Typescript). • Experience working with microservices. • Experience leading projects with several engineering contributors. • Seeks to iterate on new products based on customer feedback. • Experience using LLM technologies is a plus. Samsara’s Compensation Philosophy: Samsara’s compensation program is designed to deliver Total Direct Compensation (based on role, level, and geography) that is at or above market. We do this through our base salary bonus/variable restricted stock unit awards (RSUs) for eligible roles. For eligible roles, a new hire RSU award may be awarded at the time of hire, and additional RSU refresh grants may be awarded annually. We pay for performance, and top performers in eligible roles may receive above-market equity refresh awards which allow employees to achieve higher market. The range of annual base salary for full-time employees for this position is below. Please note that base pay offered may vary depending on factors including your city of residence, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. $126,140—$212,000 USD
