As we grow, your career and opportunities will grow as well.Position SummaryMarqeta is looking for a senior leader to build and lead the Card Fulfillment team and business. Residing within the Delivery Operations organization, the Card Fulfillment team has a global responsibility that spans three key Organizations within Marqeta. Sales, Delivery Operations, and Customer Success. The key to success in this role will be building new and strengthening existing vendor partnerships and contracts, fostering internal relationships with the Marqeta extended team, including Technology, Product, Sales, Customer Success, Risk, Legal, and New Market Expansion, and building a team with expertise and a business mindset to support our revenue goals and global expansion.Primary ResponsibilitiesThe responsibility of this role is the leadership of the card fulfillment team within Marqeta. This is a crucial role for our business that requires a dynamic professional who excels in leadership, operations, relationship management, and business acumen.

Business Acumen & Leadership:


  • Build and manage a growing card fulfillment team with global responsibilities
  • Partner with internal organizations and leaders to develop operational strategies in support of corporate objectives and goals
  • Influence and drive changes to cross-functional processes
  • Ensure Marqeta is leading the industry and our competition through cross-functional collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to unlock new verticals and Marqeta specific features

    Process & Operations


    • Run Card Fulfillment as a business with the goal of total satisfaction with both internal and external customers
    • Improve operational efficiencies within card fulfillment
    • Identify and remove gaps between card fulfillment and internal business partners

      Strategic relationship management:


      • Lead development of Card Fulfillment Center of Excellence
      • Engage with Marqeta's partners to ensure they embrace our long-term vision
      • Serve as a thought leader with the ability to communicate and gain alignment on Marqeta's modern card issuing strategy
      • Push our partners to build new features in card fulfillment and accelerate growth
      • Expand current partner landscape both domestically and internationally

        Contracts & Business Reviews:


        • Lead negotiations with card fulfillment partners for acceptable terms and pricing
        • Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) and manage partners to the contracted service level agreements (SLAs)

        • Conduct Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) utilizing data to ensure Marqeta's business needs are met


          RequirementsIn addition to operational excellence, relationship management skills, and global business experience we are looking for the following attributes:


          • 10+ years of experience with Operations, Relationship management, Product, Strategy, Sales and Technology
          • 7+ years of experience managing a team
          • A goal-oriented business mindset with a focus on operational excellence
          • Experience working with sales and customer success organizations to achieve a common goal

          • Understanding of the payments industry and the role that card fulfillment plays to enable payments
          • Successful track record of building and maintaining strong relationships with contacts at all levels (including senior executives)
          • Ability to prioritize, manage, and deliver on multiple projects simultaneously; highly motivated and able to work against aggressive timelines while influencing our partners to do the same
          • Self-driven, results-oriented, quick learner with a positive outlook and a clear focus on high-quality deliverables
          • Foundation of integrity and strong character to consistently represent Marqeta's values
          • Superior communication skills (interpersonal, verbal, presentation, written)
          • Ability to travel up to 25%
          • Education: Bachelor's degree required
