This team is creating a high-performing and scalable platform to store, manage and use data to support several use cases in research project lifecycle. You will help us drive our objective of delivering business value through delivery of this foundational infrastructure. Through it, researchers can collaborate to explore data, process, analyze and distribute data. As the -Senior Digital Product Manager -on the Mathematica Products Team, you'll help define the roadmap for this new capability, drive the implementation forward, define pricing and licensing terms, and continue to evolve the platform based on feedback and technology advances. You'll work in a collaborative, cross-functional environment with engineering, enterprise architecture, research, and data visualization design experts to create the platform that will drive research at Mathematica and advance our mission. While most of the Products team works in the Princeton office, we are open to candidates working in other Mathematica offices or working remotely.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop the platform vision and translate into a product strategy and execution roadmap
  • Set key performance metrics and OKRs to define success
  • Lead the data ingestion, storage, exploration, and data processing strategy for the platform in partnership with architecture, engineering, and research teams
  • Facilitate regular feedback sessions with Products team, Data Analysts, Business Units and external users to capture diverse use cases
  • Gather, prioritize, and document workflows and platform requirements and facilitate the trade-off process during requirement definition and reviews to ensure releases are delivered against business objectives
  • Conduct market/user research to learn unmet needs, competitor intel and market segmentation/sizing to maintain value prop and differentiation for Mathematica
  • Identify experiments to validate solutions and strategies in collaboration with partners in business operations and business units
  • Define and lead data governance from ingestion through usage guidelines, attribution requirements and metadata in collaboration with Information Security, Contracts and Legal teams
  • Stay informed to identify new technologies, tools, workflows to evolve the research data platform, including AI/ML
  • Set up and monitor dashboards to measure performance, issue alerts, and track data usage
  • Evangelize platform across Mathematica and support internal customers in its use Position Requirements:
    • 8+ years product management or engineering work experience (including at least 5 years' product management experience)
    • Master's degree in Information Science, Computer Science, or similar relevant field, or equivalent work experience
    • Proven experience in launching, managing, and supporting high-volume data platforms
    • 3+ years of experience working on a data platform and managing standards and governance for ETL and/or data lakes, with specific experience in AWS environments
    • Experience with SaaS services, products, and infrastructure at scale
    • Requires in-depth knowledge and/or breadth of experience with UX/UI and web development
    • Experience working in SCRUM/Agile frameworks and solid understanding of SDLC
    • Experience with change management governance processes and rolling out new tools
    • Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills to clearly communicate and lead a diverse, multi-disciplinary team including non-technical audience
    • A team player able to build and maintain technical relationships, to manage priorities and demands from stakeholders across the company and create consensus and approvals without direct reporting lines
    • Willingness to roll up your sleeves and get things done This position offers an anticipated annual base salary range of $125,000 - $165,000.
