Wine Warehouse is a multi-generational, family owned and operated, wholesale distributor of fine wine, beer and spirits for California seeking a FULL-TIME Chain Area Manager for the following regions:
Oakland, Brentwood, Livermore, to San Jose, CA

Position Summary:
This position is responsible for managing the field sales for a specific district in a particular division, training and managing of Regional Managers and Sales Representatives, to achieve assigned sales goals in an area of assigned geography coordination of sales efforts of sales teams and participate in conducting General Sales Meetings and working with each Regional Manager in the area of assigned geography.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following; other duties may be assigned or requested:
Manages the performance of each Regional Manager and their respective teams to ensure proper execution of product sales and adherence to company policies and procedures
Builds management skills of Regional Managers by providing them with a sense of direction and confidence
Manages and facilitates maximum execution of sales goals, at store level, by working closely with Regional Managers and Director of Sales
Assists the Regional Manager in recognizing and solving problems that transcend their skill level
Participates in recruitment, assessment, and the selection process including Performance Evaluations
Responsible for sales training, in the field and at sales meetings, regarding proper sales techniques, merchandising, time management, communication skills, and the best use of materials and resources
Provides upward flow of relevant market information to upper management
Participates in team meetings to coach the Regional Managers in evaluating and motivating the sales performance of team members against the organizational objectives
Monitors and assists in compiling the monthly sales analysis and reports
Responsible for coordination of Safety Meetings in working with Human Resources Representatives

Qualifications:
Minimum 3-5 years management experience in a Wholesale/Retail environment
Demonstrated success in staff management
Has well-documented supervisory, motivational, and training skills
Bachelor's degree (BS/BA), MBA or equivalent combination of education and work experience
Has strong written and verbal communication with equally-strong listening skills
Technical Skills: Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel and Power point), Internet savvy, intermediate or better knowledge of Google Apps and SAP is preferred
Experience in chain store operations in California is preferred
Extensive wine, beverage, alcohol product knowledge
Ability to work cross-organizationally toward solutions and be a devoted consensus builder
Is highly organized and possesses very effective time management skills
Has the ability to create and deliver compelling presentations
Standard business hours are Monday-Friday. With flexibility in the schedule of occasionally working early mornings, evenings, weekends, and overnight travel
Must possess valid California Driver's License
Reliable transportation and good driving record is required

This is a high-energy, multi-faceted position requiring personal initiative, flexibility, and some routine travel.
Must be able to walk, bend, and reach frequently
Must be able to lift 50 pounds
Must wear appropriate footwear that provides comfort and support for driving, bending, stooping and climbing
Visiting accounts or rides-with, requires getting in and out of the vehicle, bending, stooping, and reaching, which requires work above the shoulder
Cutting paper boxes using paper cutter following specific instructions
