The OpportunityThe Operations Director is responsible for operational management, and works to design and implement effective systems to build Resource Development Associates (RDA) internal infrastructure and supports RDA's growth and impact. This position supervises a staff of 4-5 people who perform the functions of human resources, internal and external communications, finance, and RDA's outsourced IT provider. The Operations Director will manage, coach, and mentor the Operations team, empowering them to be effective and accountable in their respective areas of focus. This is an Executive level position that works in partnership with the CEO, Sr. Director of Consulting Services, and members of the Executive Team.About RDAFor more than 35 years, Resource Development Associates (RDA) has provided consultation to public, private, and social sector organizations working across the public safety net system to address persistent social, health, and economic problems. Our services include research, assessment, planning, grant writing, organizational development, training and coaching, facilitation, data system development, and evaluation. We believe in working collaboratively with one another and with our clients, and that curiosity and compassion are keys to making progress.ResponsibilitiesExecutive Team Member and LeadershipProvide input to the CEO regarding strategic and mission-critical issues.Work in partnership with the CEO and other Executive level staff to develop and maintain a shared vision for the organization. Executive Team members use their positions as organizational leaders to align staff efforts to the mission, vision, and values of RDA.Provide thought partnership and leadership for organizational initiatives and projects. FinanceWork with our CPA firm and our Executive Team to draft and monitor the annual budget throughout the year, and review metrics to improve financial forecasting. Ensure expenditures are controlled and align with budget, revenue, and targets for profitability.Work with CPA firm, CEO, and members of the Executive Team to prepare for monthly Finance meeting, and advise on matters that shape RDA's growth.Work with Operations and Delivery senior staff to prepare client contracts, and subcontractor agreements.Provides guidance to staff on contracting elements.Oversee and supervise staff managing invoicing, accounts payable and receivable, cash management, general ledger, payroll, and corporate credit cards.Human ResourcesEnsure, enact, and direct policies and practices that provide protection to RDA in all areas including employment law, employee relations, benefits, compensation, equal employment opportunity, diversity, and protection from harassment and discriminatory practices.Working with the HR Manager, ensure that the Personnel Manual and organizational policies are up to date and reviewed annually for compliance with changing laws and practices.Oversee recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and processes driven by the talent needs that support RDA's strategic initiatives. Oversee management and annual election of employee benefits package, including the 401k program.Collaborate with the HR Manager on responses to HR complaints or concerns, and provide guidance to staff and supervisors as issues arise.Create systems for staff development processes including introductory period and annual performance reviews, compensation reviews, and promotions.Working with the HR Manager, create an employee engagement program that includes professional development opportunities.Other ResponsibilitiesOversee staff tasked with office functionality and management, events, and facilities.Promote and contribute to a healthy organizational culture.Assess technology needs of the organization and collaborate with IT partner to insure efficient and sophisticated business operations. Insure that IT support staff receive it timely and effective.Lead process to establish systems and processes to improve internal functioning of the organization. Supervise, mentor, and train staff through both structured supervision meetings, team meetings, and ad-hoc coaching. About YouDemonstrated commitment to social and economic justice and experience working with diverse communities.Master's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Accounting or related field; additional work experience may substitute.A minimum of 5 years work experience in consulting, governmental or non-profit organizations in a similar management position.Demonstrate awareness of the sensitive nature of this position with a proven record of accomplishment of meeting ethical and confidentiality guidelines.Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills.Computer skills including competency with Google Suite, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.Excellent organization skills, work habits, verbal and written communication skills.
