Job Description:
Managerial consulting supports senior leadership by addressing
strategic issues, including determining the problem definition and
structuring the problem solving approach, generally where no
precedent currently exists. Issues span several topics and are not
restricted to one functional area. Examples include strategy
development, market assessments, policy issues, profitability
assessments and major implementations. Issues support senior
leadership in the definition and attainment of organizational
goals. Consulting Manager I either supervises a group of managerial
consultants and analysts or is responsible for a cost center
budget.
Essential Responsibilities:
Provides leadership and direction for the department in accordance
with its overall strategic direction. Supervises a group of
consultants and analysts focused on the delivery of the management
consulting or manages the budget allocated to the consulting group
or cost center.
Reviews and approves all expenses within the group. Ensures that
appropriate actions are taken to correct the budget variances and
the budget is balanced at year-end.
Ensures that reports and information are accurate, timely and
consistent, and that they satisfy the clients' needs. Provides
leadership and consultation on the design, development and
implementation of programs related to the practice area.
Basic Qualifications:
Experience
Minimum six (6) years of experience.
Education
Bachelor's degree in business administration, economics, health
care administration, operations research, public health
administration, or other related field, OR four (4) years of
experience in a directly related field.
High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED)
required.
License, Certification, Registration

Additional Requirements:
Demonstrated ability to determine the key business issues and
develop appropriate action plans from multidisciplinary
perspectives.
Demonstrated ability to lead professionals through influence and
collaboration.
Proficient in team building, conflict resolution, group
interaction, project management, and budget management.
Demonstrated ability to conduct and interpret
quantitative/qualitative analysis.
Advanced computer skills and knowledge of data systems. Proven
leadership skills in project management and consulting.
Must exhibit efficiency, collaboration, candor, openness, and
results orientation.
Must demonstrate an understanding of the operations and/or business
of Kaiser Permanente, health policy trends, and any applicable
regulations related to the responsible practice area.
Must be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership
environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Minimum six (6) years of experience, healthcare experience
preferred.
Master's degree strongly preferred.
