Job Description:
Job Description/Summary: Reporting to the Executive Director of
Perioperative services, the Director of Surgical Services is
responsible for outlining the vision, strategic direction, and
operational leadership to guide practice and processes in the
perioperative area. #This role has multi-site responsibilities
including BCH Oakland Main Campus, BCH Oakland Outpatient Center,
Cross-bay as needed. # Functional areas of oversight at all
campuses include: # # Preoperative Clinic, Surgery (inpatient and
outpatient), Post Anesthesia Recovery, Central Processing, and the
Business Offices. ## Job responsibilities include:
#Strategy/business development, budget development/management,
personnel management, clinical standards development, and oversight
of the division#s quality initiatives. # #The department staff
provide care in twelve anesthetising locations including
Perioperative care (Main Campus, OPC), Cardiac Catheterization Lab,
and Diagnostic Imaging. ## Position Summary: Minimum Education:
Master#s Degree in Nursing required# Minimum Experience: 5-7 years
related departmental experience. #4 years progressive leadership
experience. License Required: Licensed Registered Nurse in
California Certification Required: National Nursing Certification
required (such as CNOR, NEA, Pediatrics) Knowledge, Skills, and
Abilities: Advanced communication, interpersonal, presentation, and
writing skills. #Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
#Knowledge of Nurse Practice Act and working knowledge of
regulatory requirements. #Strong crisis management and
prioritization abilities. Technical Knowledge: #Advanced
proficiency with PC, word processing, spreadsheets, Power Point,
electronic finance systems, and HER. #Knowledge of AORN and other
perioperative national standards (CHA) Physical Requirements: Sit:
Up to 8 hours/day Stand/Walk: 3-6 hours Bend/Stoop: Up to 3 hours
Reach: Up to 3 hours Rep Use of UE/Grasp: Up to 8 hrs
Lift/Push/Pull: 15 lbs This job requires the ability to hear alarms
clients and/or instruction. The ability to see accurately from 20
