YOUR CONTRIBUTION TO OUR SUCCESS!:
Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesIncludes the following. - Other duties may be assigned. -Interviews, trains and evaluates output and performance of staff. - Maintains a turnover rate less than 10% per year. Mentors and develops staff:Plans and oversees ongoing education of all personnel regarding departmental policies, procedures and time management.Plans and oversees ongoing education plans of the department.Encourages growth and development of staff and incorporation of best practice models in operations and care delivery. -Assures ongoing performance evaluation is conducted on all staff. - Counsels employees and takes appropriate action.Participates in developing departmental goals that reflect the vision of the organization. -STRATEGIC PLANNING OVERSIGHT:Oversees and leads the strategic planning process, to set and accomplish both short-term and long-term goals and objectives. Executes the approved strategic plan to best meet the Agency's mission.STAFF MANAGEMENT:Provides leadership and is a mentor to staff. Inspires the team to accomplish and exceed its outlined goals and provide outstanding services to the Agency's clients and community. Ensures the successful and efficient completion of all aspects of the Agency's objectives, and the best use of all staff and volunteers available. Provides opportunities for professional development for all staff.FUND DEVELOPMENT:Plans, leads, and helps execute fund development efforts. In collaboration with the Board and staff, the Executive Director meets and networks with funders and prospective donors and has responsibility for successful fundraising activities. Researches, studies, and seeks additional funding for women's health programs appropriate to the WORLD community.PROGRAM MANAGEMENT:Provides direction for program decisions, including local, national and international project development and monitoring. Encourage program staff and volunteers in the delivery of programs that educate and support women with HIV/AIDS, those at risk and others suffering from chronic health conditions. Negotiates and ensures that programs are meeting the contract deliverables and objectives. Maintains positive relationships with program partners and funders.FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT:Develops the annual agency budget for presentation to the board, ensures proper fiscal accounting and controls in accordance with the guidelines of funding sources and with sound accounting practices. Maintains fiscal solvency of agency. - Ensures the successful completion of the agency's annual audit. Approves and ensures invoicing and reporting to funders on a monthly basis, as well as submission of budget modifications and renewal budgets.OUTREACH/PUBLIC RELATIONS:Represents the Agency in relationships with local, national, and international communities and officials, the news media, private and public agencies and committees. Acts as the Agency's primary spokesperson. Supervises the production of the quarterly newsletter.INFRASTRUCTRE/ADMINISTRATION:Oversees agency infrastructure management, including IT systems, controls, computers, software and related business protocols necessary to maintain and improve agency services. Administers and enforces personnel policies, including HR benefits, compensation and compliance. -Participation in Meetings/CommitteesParticipates in regular AHF meetings and committees.Attends external meetings as needed. -Supervisory ResponsibilitiesCarries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with WORLD/AHF's policies and applicable laws. - Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work, appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Directly supervises a staff of approximately 4 persons including 2 managers while overseeing the agency's 10 - 12 full time staff and volunteers. -QualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. - The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required. - Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. - -Education and/or ExperienceMinimum Bachelor's degree with Masters preferred, in nonprofit administration, public health, social work, management, social justice, or a related field. - Minimum of 5 years' experience in non-profit management as an executive director, associate/deputy director, senior level manager or equivalent in the private sector. Thorough knowledge and experience with health and human services, -HIV/AIDS issues pertinent to women, and/or other women's health issues preferred. - Experienced in building and maintaining long-term, mutually beneficial relationships with non-profit stake-holders. - The ability to be the "face" of the Agency locally, regionally and nationally in print and online news media. - -Computer/Software Skills & AbilitiesTo perform this job successfully, an individual should have proficient knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Mail and Applications, Power Point, Adobe Acrobat Reader and social networking sites. -Language SkillsAbility to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. - Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to Management, public groups, and/or boards of directors. -Mathematical SkillsAbility to apply advanced concepts to financial modeling, budgeting and projections for agency fund development and contract management. -Reasoning AbilityAbility to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. - Proven success with managing, leading and encouraging staff with very diverse backgrounds, cultures, and personalities (race, sexual orientation, HIV status, religion, socioeconomic status, etc.). - Communicates a long-term, big picture vision to all constituents, yet still keeps sight of the details needed to get there. Strong ties to the community and/or ability to network and build relationships with local, national, and international partners, members, donors to foster a mutually beneficial result. - Outstanding interpersonal skills with the maturity, integrity, and experience to gain the trust and confidence with a wide variety of stakeholder (including funders, external contacts, staff, colleagues, members and partners). - Ability to positively challenge direct reports to generate new and creative means of meeting the needs of stakeholders. - -Other Skills & Abilities/QualificationsSensitivity to issues surrounding HIV and AIDS.Strong interpersonal and communication skills.Must be able to travel 10% of the time.Ability to work as a team player.Strong attention to detail.Excellent interpersonal skills.Able to work independently and follow established protocols.Ability to work with diverse populations. -Sensitivity to multi-cultural and lifestyle issues.Strong organizational/prioritizing skills in a rapidly changing environment.Demonstrated success in fundraising, including major gifts, grant writing, and special events.Solid financial management skills including ability to effectively manage budgets and invest in improvements, programs and events while maintaining proper reserves. -Certificates, Licenses and Registrations - - - - - - - - - Valid California Driver's License or ability to obtain such.
