This centralized, risk-informed approach allows PG&E to manage electric risk, asset and system health, interconnections, and performance by using consistent standards, work methods, prioritization, and program sponsorship, while leveraging lessons learned from inspections and asset data to inform asset management decisions. Accountable for asset planning and strategy, standards and work methods, and asset data management for Electric. Position SummaryThe Senior Manager, Distribution Asset Inspection Strategy is responsible for enabling an effective and efficient Distribution Asset Inspection Strategy. Develops and implements the asset management framework and consults across the lines of business to analyze risks and develop asset management plans. Facilitates the Asset Family Owner input into the asset risk register by coordinating within the asset family and maintains the Asset Management Plans for Distribution Asset Inspection through critical assessment of ongoing work and future risk mitigation plans and their impact on risk reduction. Serves as a liaison with the Asset Family risk teams and Enterprise Risk Management, ensuring alignment of Asset Family risks and risk mitigations with the risk register. Responsible for the Inspection portions of the Asset Management Plan documents and preparing supporting reports and analysis for the Asset Family. Assists with development of testimony for rate cases, including the supporting analysis related to the overarching Asset Management Plan. Contributes toward Distribution Asset Inspection Strategy goals by improving safety, reliability, and affordability for the asset families.*This position offers a flexible work location within the PG&E service territory.Job Responsibilities

  • Leads Distribution Asset Inspection & Underground Strategy efforts and coordinates across asset families in accordance with PG&E standard practice
  • Working with Risk and Data Analytics, develops and implements risk informed prioritization methodology for long- and short-term inspection and maintenance work plan
  • Provides the single point of contact on Distribution Inspection for Asset Strategy
  • Develops, implements, and monitors appropriate Distribution Asset Inspection Strategy risk mitigation activities and controls, working with Electric Operations business clients.
  • Coordinates with other asset family owners and SME and understands integration of other asset management plans
  • Oversees coordination of risk register updates and asset management plans for Distribution Asset Inspection Strategy
  • Leverages risk information to understand and challenge business decisions
  • Contributes to the development of best practices in risk and asset management for Distribution Asset Inspection Strategy
  • Develops and coordinates the preparation of presentation materials for senior management.
  • Leads and/or coordinates rate case initiatives for Distribution Asset Inspection Strategy
  • Effectively communicates highly complex ideas to diverse audiences
  • Develops, documents, updates, and maintains Asset Management process and procedures that meet requirements and adhere to defined policies
  • Supports investment planning in risk-based prioritization assessments, ensuring high level of alignment in methodologies and assessments for Distribution Asset Inspection Strategy
  • Works closely with other functions, with Asset Knowledge Management, to support the AFO in developing an asset management data quality improvement planQualificationsMinimum:
    • Bachelors degree or equivalent related experience
    • 10 years of related business experience including 3 years in a leadership role
    • Leadership experience, union-represented employeesDesired:
      • Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering
      • PE, Leadership Coursework
      • Leadership experience internal or external to PG&E
      • Previous experience in asset management and maintenance
      • Strategic thinking
      • Strong written and oral communication skills
      • Knowledge of root cause investigation
      • Knowledge of distribution system and system planning
      • Ability to manage multiple requests simultaneously and self-direct work prioritization based on team/company prioritiesRequired
