Please advise in writing of special needs at the time of application.THE ROLEReporting to the Chief Communications Officer, the Director of Digital Engagement will lead Vote Solar's digital communications strategy to ensure our advocacy efforts effectively engage, educate, and inspire people to support Vote Solar's mission. In collaboration with the Communications and Philanthropy teams, the Director of Digital Engagement will set the vision, establish goals, evaluate and report on our online engagement efforts including member journey & experience. In addition, this position will own online advertising and maintenance of our CRM and website. RESPONSIBILITIES The primary responsibilities of the Director of Digital Engagement will include, but are not limited to:MEMBERSHIP ENGAGEMENT (35%)

  • Own strategy for member experience and engagement journey for member attraction, conversion, retention, and optimization
  • In coordination with the Director of Campaign Communications and Individual Giving Manager, design and implement member email campaigns (welcome series, lapsed member series, etc) complementary to advocacy and philanthropy-driven member goals
  • Evaluate and apply data driven insights to optimize email strategy, increasing member actions and conversions
  • Define, evaluate and report on goals at each stage of the member journey
  • Collaborate with Campaign Communications Director and Philanthropy team to maintain strong list health DIGITAL ADVOCACY SUPPORT AND ONLINE ADVERTISING (30%)
    • Serve as a digital ambassador to stay up to date with current digital communications best practices, tools, and technologies to ensure that innovative digital communications capabilities are identified, evaluated and road-mapped
    • Plan and implement online advertising to meet specific audience goals, including digital ad targeting, content development, ad buys
    • Provide periodic training and share best practices to Regional Communications staff.
    • Monitor and analyze overall digital performance and identify, prioritize and execute on opportunities to boost digital campaign advocacy
    • Lead communications planning retrospectives on digital advocacy campaigns WEBSITE AND DIGITAL COMMUNICATIONS TOOLS MANAGEMENT (25%)
      • Oversee website development and maintenance, ensuring content is compelling, actionable, accessible and consistent with Vote Solar's organizational narrative and brand
      • Act as our CRM administrator to ensure effective deployment in digital advocacy
      • Oversee third party contracts and vendors supporting our digital communications platforms and CRM-related efforts
      • Own and manage digital asset library DIVERSITY, EQUITY, INCLUSION AND JUSTICE (10%)
        • Continue personal learning and contributions to organizational work on diversity, equity and inclusion
        • Work to embed equity in all organizational internal practices and culture, as well as our programs
        • Bring openness and engagement to personal, professional, and organization-wide learning on race, class, gender, justice, and equity REQUIREMENTSWHAT YOU'VE ACCOMPLISHED
          • 7+ years of digital advocacy or communications experience, or a demonstrated track record that matches this experience
          • Hands-on experience in marketing automation platforms
          • Demonstrated ability in growing, engaging with, and analyzing the performance of a large email/CRM database
          • Demonstrated research and analytical skills; knowledgeable in Google Analytics, HTML/CSS, A/B Testing and other CMS
          • Experience in paid digital ad optimization, SEO/SEM; Google Ads and Meta Ad Manager highly preferred
          • Experience maintaining and troubleshooting websites in Wordpress
          • Strong written communications skills
          • A good eye for design; knowledge of UX best practices and conversion flow optimization
          • Excellent time management skills with the ability to plan, organize and prioritize workload and handle several projects simultaneously
          • Ability to manage work effectively across multiple teams in a dispersed team environment OTHER THINGS YOU MIGHT HAVE ACCOMPLISHED OR WOULD BE EXCITED TO LEARN HERE

              • Passion for building new capacity at a growing organization. LOCATIONRemote, within the United StatesVote Solar has team members across the United States. This position is a remote role. During the COVID-19 pandemic, all Vote Solar staff have been working from home and have ceased work travel. When it is safe to do so, this position will require some national travel (upwards of 4x per year).SALARY AND BENEFITSThe salary range for this position is $100,000 - $105,000. At Vote Solar, we work hard to ensure that our compensation is equitable internally and aligned with our compensation philosophy and defined job levels. In order to ensure equitable compensation across roles in the organization, we do not negotiate new hire offers. Vote Solar provides full-time staff with a competitive package, including 4 weeks of paid vacation, 12 days of sick leave, 4 days of personal leave and 16 paid holidays. We also offer 100% employer-provided health, dental and vision care for both the employee and dependents; a retirement savings plan and an employer match of up to 3.5%; and a paid parental and medical leave policy for all regular employees.
