*Position Summary*

The Career and Education/Case Manager Supervisor oversees the Career and Education

Department by providing career exploration and job readiness training, job placement job

retention assistance and case management support for YU members and those in our DPN and

JJCPA programs. The Career and Education/Case Manager Supervisor also assists with outreach

activities, facilitation of group workshops, planning and coordinating events, and supports

programs across other departments within the organization. The ideal candidate is a valuable

member of the career and education/case manager team and is skilled in applying a strengths

based approach to supporting youth with meeting career-related goals.

*Supervisory Responsibilities - YU Members, DPN; JJCPA Programs*

- Supervise and support Case Managers and Career & Education Coordinator

- Ensure case manager reports are submitted timely

- Hold weekly case manager check-in meetings

- Review and approve case manager timesheets

- Work with the case managers on a performance and professional development plan

- Work cross-functionally throughout the organization to ensure the case manager's clients are involved with org-wide programming

- Design a schedule for case manager to be involved in events and programs within the

organization (i.e., weekly food distribution, arts programming and others)

- Attend monthly leadership team meetings

*Duties and Areas of Responsibility*

- Supporting department with interventions for struggling students to improve progress

towards high school graduation and college attendance.

- Collaborates with Health & Wellness and other departments to identify and ameliorate social and health barriers to increase career sustainability.

- Implements an effective referral and follow-up process, maintaining community

resources list.

- Facilitate weekly workshops, orientations, and engage youth in career enrichment and

exploration activities assigned.

- Assisting youth, individually or in groups, with developing academic and personal/social

skills, goals and plans.

- Supporting with drop-in services for both education and employment.

- Supporting programs and initiatives outside of the Career and Education department by providing the necessary professional skills to assist with safe and healthy problem solving and conflict resolution and responding to crisis situations.

- Maintain records to document interactions, interventions, and decisions along with records based on ethical and legal guidelines.

- Develop peer counseling and advising skills on how to make good career decisions.

- Understand and work competently within the dynamics of a group; and

- Other duties as needed and assigned.

*Requirements*

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT - Bachelor's Degree Required. Master's Preferred

EXPERIENCE - Minimum of 3 years of experience in education and/ or career services.

COMMUNICATION - Must communicate effectively with clients and students. They should

express ideas and information in a way that their clients understand easily. Must have strong

written and verbal communication skills.

AVAILABILITY- Available for occasional evening and weekend work.

BILINGUAL - Bilingual communication skills preferred.
