TRC Advanced Energy (TRC) is a nationally known energy efficiency consultancy. TRC collaborates with clients to develop and implement market transforming programs and initiatives that promote energy efficiency, renewable energy, and green building in multiple market sectors across the US and around the world. These initiatives reduce energy costs, improve the health and safety conditions of buildings, while also helping the environment by reducing greenhouse gas emissions. TRC acts nationally to address some of our country's most challenging problems: global climate change and energy independence.
TRC Advanced Energy is seeking an Associate Project Manager to oversee program outreach and enrollment activities for a four-year statewide low income, multifamily energy efficiency program in California. The ideal candidate will have experience leading successful outreach and customer engagement strategies and collaborating with cross-functional teams such as marketing, operations, and/or sales. Experience with utility or energy efficiency programs, multifamily properties, and/or affordable housing is highly desirable.

You'll be joining a team of collaborative professionals that have a passion for delivering sustainable energy solutions and bridging gaps between low-income customers/disadvantaged communities and funding sources.
The Outreach and Enrollment Associate Project Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day management and implementation of the program's customer acquisition plan and enrollment strategy that converts qualified affordable multifamily property owners, developers, and contractors into leads for the program. This includes but is not limited to: supporting the development of the customer acquisition plan and enrollment strategy, forecasting and achieving program outreach and enrollment goals; working with the marketing team to develop effective program collateral and engagement strategies to increase lead generation; managing a budget, schedule, and assigned staffing resources; and attending events that support outreach and enrollment initiatives. This individual will also manage the contract activities associated with a complimentary affordable housing program and at least one direct report. This position requires someone with a strong ability to communicate and coordinate effectively with team members, clients, vendors, property owners, commercial developers/builders, contractors, and other stakeholders.
The position will be located at one of TRC's California offices: Irvine, Los Angeles, San Diego, San Francisco, Oakland, or Rancho Cordova (Sacramento). Hybrid working is currently in effect. The majority of time may be remote, but staff are encouraged to meet in local offices when appropriate and to foster team collaboration.
JOB DUTIES: Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:


  • Developing, conducting, and managing program outreach activities to generate project leads from stakeholders including affordable housing developers, property owners, and property managers as well as contractors for a statewide low income, multifamily energy efficiency program in California.
  • Leading an outreach and enrollment team that generates leads by nurturing relationships with the abovementioned stakeholders.
  • Managing enrollment key performance indicators (KPIs) and a pipeline of properties to be enrolled.
  • Creating templates and scripts to support outreach and communication efforts.
  • Maintaining up-to-date and accurate records to ensure program and contract compliance.
  • Ensuring outreach staff maintain appropriate technical proficiency for consulting with prospective customers regarding participation.
  • Upholding standards for documentation accuracy, completeness, and compliance across the outreach and enrollment team.
  • Ensuring outreach staff are communicating accurately with program participants regarding application and eligibility requirements.
  • Analyzing existing and anticipated customer requirements and taking action on operational improvements as needed.
  • Identifying and conducting outreach initiatives such as attending events, hosting webinars, and supporting social media engagement.
  • Communicating between management and program staff to ensure outreach and enrollment strategy and goal updates are provided effectively in a timely manner.
  • Staying informed of program changes, incentive status, and other information for customers.
  • Establishing and maintaining high standards of work, communication, and deliverables.
  • Working independently as well as collaboratively with multiple team members, customers, and stakeholders; in addition to leading and inspiring outreach and enrollment staff.
  • Managing contract activities associated with a complimentary affordable housing program and at least one direct report.
    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor's degree in related field and a minimum of five years of related marketing, outreach, enrollment, or customer service experience within the energy or related sector. Master's degree a plus.
    • Demonstrated ability to meet client/project goals, manage multiple tasks, track project finances, andensure timely and effective project delivery.


      • Interpersonal skills:

        • Strong customer service skills that include highly effective communication in-person, over email, and over the phone.
        • Self-driven and a team player with analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
        • Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with program participants and market partners.
        • Experience and comfort with public speaking, direct outreach, and networking.
        • Ability to effectively work across multiple internal functions (engineering,



          marketing, operations, etc.).

          • Organizational skills:

            • Excellent time management skills including the ability to monitor and manage progress while seeking additional opportunities within new or repeat customers.
            • Ability to create and monitor KPIs to support program goals.
            • Demonstrated experience with field-based activities (e.g., industry marketing and education events) and ability to effectively work remote.


            • Technical competency:

              • Previous experience with utility programs, building performance principles, energy efficiency terminology, Title 24, benchmarking, or construction management is highly desirable, but we are also willing to consider other industries if there is a strong outreach/customer engagement background.
              • Applicable experience delivering effective program outreach, enrollment, and/or marketing strategies is highly desirable.
              • Strong computer proficiency that ensures day-to-day work and meeting attendance can be performed successfully, particularly in a remote environment. Experience using MS Office (i.e. Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and ability to conduct independent computer-based research is required.
              • Experience utilizing a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system or a similar system to effectively track pipeline/outreach/business development activities is a plus.


              • Other:

                • Eligible to work in the United States. Ability to travel within California.
                • Valid driver's license in the State of California (must be obtained prior to employment); ability to travel within California.
                • Low-income/disadvantaged community, EV charging, energy storage, and/or demand response deployment experience is a plus.
                • Certification or membership related to the building or energy industry is a plus.



                  In accordance with local law, the following compensation range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition: $70,000 - $94,000. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, and other compensable factors.
