JOB CODE: 11506 PAY SCALE: $152,300.00 - $180,000.00 ANNUALLY GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The Credit Cards and Personal Loans/Lines Director is responsible for advancing the overall strategy for growth and performance for the consumer loan portfolio. The role holder will be an innovative thinker who can analyze/interpret data and translate research into actionable results. The product director will effectively manage the ongoing conflicting needs of various stakeholders and align stakeholders on the consumer lending roadmap. They will also work in a dynamic environment, lead or serve on cross-functional teams to develop competitive products and services that deliver value for our members and efficiency for the company. This person will be responsible for flawless execution of strategies and tactics to achieve the department goals. PURPOSE STATEMENT: To foster quality consumer loan growth by identifying and implementing industry leading products, programs, and processes that ensure the Golden 1 remains a market leader with a quality image and financial strength. TASKS, DUTIES, FUNCTIONS:

  • Manage the development of lending through business development programs, and partner with marketing and analytics to take an active role meeting our member's needs.
  • Continually assess the competitiveness of Lending products against relevant competition in the market, and statewide markets.
  • Collaborate with cross functional departments on new initiatives, product launches, and campaigns.
  • Perform vendor management oversight and coordination, including vendor due diligence as needed.
  • Assist in creation of product and strategy roadmaps that translate into actionable tactics and build a consumer lending strategy playbook.
  • Meet regularly with peers and other leaders within the organization, to enhance internal operations, resolve issues and drive improvement.
  • Contributes to the strategic planning and positioning of the consumer lending division and influences credit union strategic direction. Translate prioritized objectives and strategies into actionable tactics which can be implemented in the near and long term.
  • Support the development and design of new products, services, and game-changing experiences.
  • Develop and maintain an understanding of the pertinent regulatory requirements and risks inherent to job responsibilities, establish, and maintain control activities that mitigate those risks consistent with the Credit Union's risk appetite, and ensure operational integrity and compliance with applicable regulations. PHYSICAL SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND EXERTION UTILIZED IN THE PERFORMANCE OF THESE TASKS:
    • Effective oral and written communication skills required to fulfill job duties.
    • Must possess sufficient manual dexterity to skillfully operate an online computer terminal and other standard office equipment, such as financial calculators, personal computer, and telephone. ORGANIZATIONAL CONTACTS & RELATIONSHIPS:
      • All levels of staff.
      • Vendors and peers at other financial institutions. QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree desired, Master's Degree considered a plus. Equivalent education and work experience may be considered in lieu of degree. EXPERIENCE: 10+ years' experience in consumer lending, or financial services industry including a minimum of five years of progressive leadership experience. Three ye of experience in the analysis and reporting of statistical data. KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
        • Expertise in driving campaign strategies within the financial or fintech space.
        • Advanced business case and proposal writing skills
        • Strong analytical skills and understanding of loan acquisition by mining data through internal data sets and credit bureaus
        • Experience developing lending program strategies to increase production metrics while providing an exceptional experience to members and employees.
        • Requires broad understanding of lending products, marketing and communications, consumer experience, operations, and technology.
        • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
        • Advanced MS Excel functions like formulas, pivot tables, and macros.
        • Experience with industry-based application, analytics, and marketing platforms preferred.
        • Proven ability to meet deadlines, deliver high quality results, and demonstrate accountability and ownership of work and actions.
        • Highly detailed and organized.
        • Successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously with the ability to adapt to changes and prioritize and manage competing demands.
        • Robust analytical and problem-solving skills to critically evaluate user requests from the underlying true needs and distinguish solution ideas from requirements.
        • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
        • Strong interpersonal skills required, including maintaining positive relationships with system stakeholders, providers, and key internal business partners. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
          • Prolonged sitting throughout the workday with occasional mobility required.
          • Corrected vision within the normal range.
          • Hearing within normal range. A device to enhance hearing will be provided if needed.
          • Occasional movements throughout the department daily to interact with staff, accomplish tasks, etc.
          • Extensive travel by car or public conveyance for out-of-area locations or across the United States. LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS: Possession of a valid California driver's license is desirable but not essential.
