The TDS teams include Information Security, Planning (architecture and PMO), Application Development, HR & Payroll Development, Infrastructure, and Client Services teams. We maintain an innovative, inclusive, and supportive work environment.Position SummaryThe Manager, Pension Administration Business Systems Analysis' key focus will be to lead the TDS business systems analyst team and help provide business and technology services to the Retirement Administration Service Center (RASC) and its business partners. They will help prioritize the needs of RASC and its partners, by participating in Governance Meetings, engaging RASC leadership, and representing the technology aspects of the Pension Administration System (PAS). The Manager, Pension Administration Business Systems Analysis will heavily collaborate with the Product Manager, Business Information Systems (BIS) Team, Systemwide Human Resources, ITS, locations, and retirees to define the designs from the requirements. The Manager, Pension Admin, BSA fosters an inclusive work environment.Key Responsibilities35% STRATEGY & SUBJECT MATTER EXPERT: Generates unique solutions to problems rather than relying on workarounds. Expected to identify best practices/continuous improvements that may optimize or improve on existing processes and technology. Close partnership with stakeholders on their needs and how their requests interrelate or conflict with those from other areas. Balance stakeholder needs and IT requirements to ensure a secure and scalable application ecosystem. Identifying the root cause of technical or organizational problems as opposed to focusing on the symptoms.25% PERSONNEL & RESOURCE LEADERSHIP/MANAGEMENT: Lead a team of BSAs to deliver on the product design solutions. Directly hire team members and participate in interviews as appropriate utilizing UC policies and procedures to ensure equitable practices are being followed within the recruitment process. Manages a team in accordance with UC policies and procedures, ensuring appropriate and periodic performance assessments, motivating employees, and encouraging professional development. Fosters an innovative, inclusive, and supportive work environment. Provides vendor management to ensure UC standards and practices are followed. Establishes and recommends changes to policies and processes which affect the team or program. Develop metrics to track the success of your team, sharing an agreed approach and schedule.20% COMMUNICATION & COLLABORATION: Engaging others, including your team, to build a sense of ownership of organizational goals and translating them into practical steps. Inspire others, including staff, management, and senior management to embrace change and deliver outcomes. Interact with numerous teams (IT, business, campuses, system integrators, etc.) for direction and input; partnering with the Product Manager and other ITS PAS leadership utilizing surveys, interviews, etc. to evaluate our services. Lead group forums to gather requirements, build consensus, relay findings and direction, etc. Effectively communicate with a wide variety of stakeholders, tailoring the message / content based on the audience.20% PROJECT LEADERSHIP & DOCUMENTATION: Planning workstreams and projects such that specific tasks, timelines, milestones, and objectives are clearly established in advance. Instituting effective methods for keeping track of project details. Develop and document user scenarios, use cases, and detailed product requirements. You and your team partner with the Product Manager supporting the buildout of roadmaps, process flows, etc. to effectively manage the product lifecycle and strategy. Create communication plans and announcements, partnering with RASC/BIS for changes, as appropriate. Organizing or adjusting information and materials to ensure accurate and timely completion of tasks. This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be offered a salary at or near the top of the range for a position. Salary offers are determined based on final candidate qualifications and experience.
