Job Summary
The incumbent is responsible for the retail food programs on the UC
Davis Health campus. Duties include organizing and maintaining
quality food control methods while evaluating and reporting
discrepancies to management. Incumbent is the retail operations
Safety Coordinator, manages the maintenance, sanitation, and safety
standards for assigned areas. This assignment assists with writing
and updating retail and culinary position descriptions, job
outlines, selects, trains, supervises, and evaluates the
performance of food service personnel for assigned areas. The
incumbent works with all staff to ensure food quality,
presentation, and customer service standards are met. Responsible
for merchandising, inventory controls, menu website maintenance and
the requisition system operations and updates.. Incumbent actively
participates in cost control measures, performance improvement
standards, and assists in policy development related to the overall
functioning of retail services. Incumbent is responsible for cash
handling and PCI regulatory requirements within retail areas. The
incumbent works in conjunction with department managers and
supervisors to ensure seasonal menu development, compliance with UC
Davis Health Policies and Procedures, performs audits, and
evaluates security controls. Ensures that areas of responsibility
comply with regulatory agencies regarding health regulations,
including the Joint Commission, Title XXII, OSHA, Sacramento County
Environmental Management Department, California Department of
Public Health, California Retail Food Code (CalCode), Environmental
Health & Safety Department, and UCD/UCDH P&P's. Apply By Date:

within 3 months of hire and must be maintained. High School
Diploma, GED or equivalent certification, experience and
trainingMinimum of three years' supervisory experience in a
high-volume retail/restaurant environment.Supervisory experience
and skills to effectively lead and delegate tasks, set performance
standards, train, motivate, direct staff and evaluate
performance.Experience analyzing financial reports.Experience with
scheduling and timekeeping software programs.Experience in
merchandising, marketing techniques, and building presentations to
promote new ideas.Proficient experience with County, State and
ServSafe Food Safety regulatory requirements.Ability to develop a
service-oriented team that rapidly responds to the change.Ability
to collaborate with management team to exchange ideas, information,
and opinions as to formulate policies and programs and/or to arrive
jointly at decisions, conclusions, or solutions.Ability to work in
a fast-paced environment while meeting department deadlines.Strong
organizational skills to work quickly and accurately under pressure
and demanding time constraints, perform multiple and varied tasks
concurrently with a high degree of accuracy, and to be flexible in
establishing priorities and in adapting to change in policies and
procedures.Proficient with Microsoft Office, Point of Sale Systems,
inventory management, scheduling and timekeeping programs, internet
and email etc.Knowledge and understanding of labor relations,
personnel, and affirmative action policies and procedures to
effectively hire, evaluate work performance, resolve complaints,
and take appropriate corrective action.Demonstrate problem solving
skills, review information, draw conclusions, develop, and evaluate
alternatives, develop solutions, implement processes and monitor
results.Develop, maintain, and practice current knowledge of
management to enhance personal growth in areas of key
responsibilities.Customer relations' skills and interpersonal
skills sufficient to relate to diverse personalities at all levels
while operating in a strong service oriented environment.Excellent
communication skills, both oral and written with the ability to
communicate effectively, convey instructions, directions, and
information in a comprehensive organized manner.Ability to provide
excellent customer service and maintain good working relationships
with all UC Davis Health staff, patients, and customers. Preferred

Bachelor's degree in Hospitality
Management or related field from an accredited college. Experience
