Job Description The MVP Consulting Group is seeking California
licensed Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to provide
psychiatric services to a non-profit PHP and IOP day program
located in Oakland, CA. The right candidate will have a thorough
knowledge of the principles and practices of psychiatric services
and related mental health services. The candidate should also have
a general knowledge of state and federal laws pertaining to public
health and mental health services. Illustrative Task Our client is
seeking a licensed Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (NP) with
expertise in mental health including assessment, diagnosis, and
medication management for adults with severe mental illnesses. The
temporary-to-hire, part-time position (16 hours/week) takes place
at a thriving, patient-centered day-treatment Partial
Hospitalization Program (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient Program
(IOP) near downtown Oakland, CA. At this time, our client is
providing 100% Telehealth services, however being able to
occasionally work on site is desirable. Availability for on-call
services, above the regularly scheduled 16 hours/week, is also
desirable but not required. The position offers an opportunity to
work as part of a passionate, values-driven, diverse treatment team
that includes an MD medical director, PNPs, PAs as well as Licensed
Marriage and Family Therapists (MFTs), Clinical Psychologists,
supervised post-graduate Clinical Associates, and Peer Support

environment. Patients receive a comprehensive array of clinical and
psychiatric services including assessment, medication management,
individual therapy, group therapy and aftercare planning, within a

message of respect, acceptance, and patient empowerment. Clinical
perspectives and trainings include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
(CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), as well as narrative,
somatic and expressive arts approaches. NECESSARY SKILLS
Comfortable working with adults with diagnoses of severe mental
illness Excellent organization, problem solving, communication, and
decision making skills Able to work independently or under
appropriate supervision within California laws Able to work as
responsible member of a collaborative treatment team Understands
and can work within a trauma-informed, strengths-based, brief
therapy model Responds to needs for case triage by severity when
applicable Strong boundary setting and time management skills to
ensure that complex cases can be adequately serviced within the
time allotted. Ability to perform the following patient
assessments: patient comprehensive screening and assessment;
suicide/self-harm risk; health and physicals; patient medication
assessment. Commitment to timely, clear documentation, highlighting
medical necessity for treatment Diplomacy and effectiveness in
collaborating with outpatient psychiatric providers Commitment to
values of cultural humility, diversity, equity and inclusion.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Current Nurse Practitioner License from
the State of California Valid California Drivers License and
Automotive Insurance DOJ and FBI Clearance TB Clearance Job Type:
Part-time,Temporary to Hire Daytime hours, 9-5 Monday to Friday
