Job Description BHR is a healthcare management firm that has
managed community- based clinics for over 22 years which serves
largely a Medi-cal population through a recovery-based, team model
that includes psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, pharmacists,
therapist, case managers and medical office assistants. Outpatient
Medical Clinic office seeks a full-time Medical Office Assistant
for office located in downtown Oakland. Clinic located right in
front of Bart station. This position works 40 hours per week.
Monday - Friday 8:30am - 5pm. Must be able to work some evenings.
Paid overtime offered. Must have reliable transportation for this
position. Seeking front office person with superior customer
service and electronic health record skills. To be consider,
candidate must have: A minimum of a high school diploma, Medical
office assistant certification or specialized training preferred 2
yrs office experience working in a healthcare setting OR 3 yrs
solid experience without medical office assistant certification
Must have above average computer skills and experience using any
type of patient scheduler software Must be extremely organized Able
to work in a very fast pace environment (see if they have any
experience working with volumes of customers or in a large type of
setting) Must be flexible (able to work last minute shifts if asked
too during normal business hours and might be asked to work at
another clinic for a day to cover) Bi-lingual a plus (Spanish) Must
have proven customer services skills, able to work some weekends
(specifically some Saturday---s and some evenings during the week
up to 6pm; with paid overtime) GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for providing clerical and medical office assistant
support to the Physicians and Staff, and for setting up and
implementing office systems to facilitate the smooth flow of the
front office and lobby activities. These activities include
coordinating patient referral, patient appointments and patient
tracking throughout the clinic system. 1. Greet all guests and
visitors that come into the clinic & over phone. (extraordinary
customer service) 2. Front office tasks 3. Check eligibility and
collect all patient co-payments. Post information on both within
system daily. 4. Gather all charge capture sheets and reconcile
daily against actual patient sign-in sheet to ensure that all
charges were captured; then send over to company billing
department. 5. Heavy patient scheduling and ensures all patients
receive return appointments on patient scheduling system. 6. Clears
messages for clinic staff, document all calls and distribute
messages accordingly. 7. Assist clinicians with the weighing in of
patients and blood pressure checks when requested. 8. Always keep
clinical staff and office manager posted on patients that are
experiencing a long waiting period in the lobby or on phone. 9.
Maintain front office and patient lobby. 10. Scan up all important
patient documents into electronic medical record at the beginning
and/or end of each day. 11. Enter new patient information into the
computer and/or updated information on clients daily. 12. Other
duties as assigned by Program Office Manager. To Apply please
