Language Pathologist (23-24SY) Lighthouse Community Charter School
is looking for a Speech and Language Pathologist who is
relentlessly committed to ensuring that traditionally underserved
students achieve our mission of completing college and securing the
career of choice. Lighthouse staff believe that this important

Oakland community. The Speech & Language Pathologist will be an
integral part of the multi-tiered systems of support team (MTSS)
which ensures all students receive necessary academic, behavioral,
and socio-emotional support to thrive in alignment with the
Lighthouse Mission, Theory of Change, Graduate Profile, and
Instructional Stances. ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Essential
Responsibilities --- Conduct speech and language evaluations for
initial or triennial evaluations (including selecting appropriate
instruments, administering tests, observing, and writing a report)
and interpret results to parents, teachers, and administrators ---
Provide recommendations to the individualized education plan (IEP)
team regarding eligibility pursuant to California Education Code,
goals, accommodations, modifications, and services --- Provide
direct, individual and/or small group speech and language therapy
to students inside or outside of the general education setting ---
Collaborate with the general education and special education
teachers, as well as other service providers, to support language
across all settings and encourage the generalization of skills ---
Partner with families to share strategies and recommendations for
how to support goals in the home --- Collect data on students'
progress in order to adjust support and instruction Additional
Responsibilities --- Participate in the multi-tiered systems of
supports through providing observation and recommendations,
screening students, and/or providing therapy through a response to
intervention model --- Participate in special education team
meetings to support alignment across the program --- Attend
student-led conferences and other student/family events, as
appropriate --- Create and maintain, records, files, and reports as
required by federal, state, and SELPA regulations --- Maintain
knowledge of current regulations pertaining to special education
and participate in professional development to keep abreast of best
practices and other relevant content --- Supervise a Speech and
Language Pathologist Assistant, when appropriate --- Demonstrate
knowledge of, and support, LCPS mission, vision, value statements,
standards, policies and procedures, operating instructions,
confidentiality standards, and the code of ethical behavior ---
Perform other related duties as required and assigned MINIMUM
QUALIFICATIONS --- Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree or
equivalent in speech-language pathology from an accredited
educational institution --- Valid California Speech-Language
Pathology School Services Credential or California Clinical or
Rehabilitative Services Credential with an authorization in
Language, Speech and Hearing --- Certification of Clinical
Competence issued by ASHA, preferred --- 2+ years as a Speech and
Language Pathologist, preferably in a school setting --- Knowledge
of El Dorado Charter SELPA and SEIS, preferred --- Spanish fluency,
preferred SUPERVISION This position reports to: Director of Special
Education. TIME COMMITMENT This position is 1.0 FTE (full-time
exempt) and follows a 10-month work year (190 days) with
significant student-free days for professional learning and
collaboration with colleagues and interaction with families. All
new staff will report in late July/early August 2023 (exact
calendar TBD). Common Building Hours: All teachers are expected to
maintain hours of 8:00 - 4:00 pm M, Tu, Th, Fri and 8:00-5:00 on
Wednesdays for Professional Development. OUR COMPENSATION PACKAGE:
