Position description

UCSF School of Medicine and UCSF Benioff Children's Hospitals

Division of Pediatric Pain, Palliative and Integrative Medicine

Adjunct, Clinical X, Health Sciences Clinical, In Residence Series

The Division of Pediatric Pain, Palliative and Integrative Medicine in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of California, San Francisco, and UCSF Benioff Children's Hospitals are recruiting faculty members to join our growing team at the Instructor, Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor rank of the Adjunct, Health Sciences (HS) Clinical, Clinical X, or In Residence faculty series. Academic rank is commensurate with experience.

Selected candidates will join a major academic medical center and established training program. This position may have clinical responsibilities at both the San Francisco and Oakland campuses and would actively contribute to the Department's mission of excellence in research, education, and patient care.

Qualified candidates will possess a medical degree and license and have a demonstrated interest in pediatric pain, palliative and/or integrative medicine, and medical education.

Preferred qualifications include board certification/eligibility in Pediatrics, fellowship training in Pediatric Pain Medicine, Palliative Care, Integrative Medicine or board certification/eligibility in Pain Medicine, Hospice and Palliative Medicine or Integrative Medicine, and a proven ability to work collaboratively across pediatric disciplines.

Clinical duties may involve providing inpatient pain, palliative, or integrative medicine consultations or overseeing outpatient pain, palliative, and integrative medicine clinics. Weekend and night call coverage may be part of the clinical responsibilities.

For positions that are 51% effort or more:

The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. See Table 5. The minimum base salary range for this position is $104,800-$320,100. This position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.

For positions that are 50% effort or less:

See Table 2 for the salary range for this position. A reasonable estimate for this position is $74,800-$228,600.
