A specialized nursing opportunity is available for a Registered Nurse with a strong background in complex gastroenterology, including expertise in ERCP cases. This contract position is based in Oakland, CA, offering a challenging and rewarding work environment within a respected medical center. The role focuses on comprehensive stepdown care, managing patients throughout their admission with a compassionate, competent, and patient-centered approach. Key Responsibilities: - Manage nursing care delivery from admission to discharge, ensuring patient safety, comfort, and hygiene - Apply nursing processes aligned with department policies to provide cost-effective care - Coordinate care involving patients, physicians, families, and multidisciplinary teams for optimal outcomes - Respond promptly to medical and environmental emergencies, prioritizing patient well-being - Conduct thorough assessments, develop individualized care plans, and regularly evaluate patient progress - Administer treatments, medications, and nursing interventions with precision and timeliness - Maintain accurate documentation and effective communication with healthcare professionals Qualifications and Experience: - Current California RN License - ACLS and BLS certifications - Minimum 2 years of nursing experience, with at least 6 months in a traveler role - Demonstrated skills in gastroenterology nursing, including complex diagnostic and therapeutic procedures - Ability to work every other weekend and be on-call as needed - Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking capabilities Shift and Schedule: - Day shift: Four 10-hour shifts per week, from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM - Weekend coverage every other weekend - On-call availability as required Location Insight:Oakland is a vibrant city known for its diverse culture, rich history, and dynamic food scene.
