Area. Overview Join a dynamic team as a locum tenens vascular
surgeon/trauma surgeon at a nationally recognized Level 1 trauma
center in Oakland, California. This vascular surgery job offers a
chance to treat a diverse patient population, manage complex
vascular trauma and open surgical cases, and collaborate with
multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced hospital environment. Ideal
candidates will have prior experience in Level 1 or Level 2 trauma
centers and be comfortable covering vascular trauma call. Job

2026 Duration: 26 weeks Shifts: Minimum 4 shifts per month
required; coverage includes ~2 weekends/month and ~3
weeknights/week Shift Structure: 24-hour day coverage (07:00 -
07:00) Practice Setting: Hospital, Level 1 trauma center (vascular
trauma, open vascular surgery) EMR: Epic Job Requirements /
Qualifications Board Eligible or Board Certified in Vascular

certification (required) ACLS certification (required) Minimum 1
year of experience in vascular trauma surgery; experience in Level
1 or Level 2 trauma centers preferred Comfortable performing
vascular and open surgery procedures, including trauma-related
interventions Ability to cover vascular trauma call and respond to
emergent cases Strong communication skills, responsiveness for
credentialing, and ability to work in multidisciplinary teams
Ability to meet hospital medical requirements (TB, MMR, Hepatitis
B, Tdap, COVID-19, Influenza, pre-employment physical, Ishihara
color vision test, 8-panel drug test) Key Responsibilities Provide
expert vascular surgery care for trauma patients in a Level 1
trauma center (trauma surgeon / vascular trauma care) Manage
vascular trauma cases, perform open surgical procedures, and assist
with endovascular interventions when appropriate Participate in
hospital call coverage including weeknights and weekends; respond
to emergent vascular cases Collaborate with trauma, critical care,
interventional radiology, and vascular teams to optimize patient
outcomes Document patient care and procedures in Epic EMR
accurately and timely Maintain compliance with hospital
credentialing, quality standards, and institutional protocols Ready
