C-Change, Transforming the Lives of Sexually Exploited Minors is a specialized program that provides mental health screening, advocacy, clinical case management and psychotherapy to youth at risk of, currently engaged in, or who have exited sexual exploitation. Catch-21 is a specialized program serving Transition Age Youth emancipating from residential treatment. We provide clinical case management and therapy to help develop and execute individualized emancipation and crisis prevention plans.

As a TAYS Clinician, you will:

  • Provide mental health screening to assess cognitive, emotional and social functioning and needs; facilitates the identification and engagement in mental health services.
  • Provide intensive mental health, clinical case management, and wrap-around service development for youth emancipating from therapeutic placements.
  • Provide crisis intervention and stabilization.
  • Collaborate with partnering staff to develop and provide trainings to other mental health providers on best practices in working with sexually exploited youth.
  • Assist youth in developing and executing their transition to adulthood plan.
  • Coordinate services with other agencies and resources to address youth's needs including: housing, medical/physical health, mental health, education, employment, independent living skills, advocacy, placement stability, and age-appropriate enrichment activities.
  • Make collateral contacts on behalf of clients as needed including Child Welfare Workers, Juvenile Justice personnel, parents and caregivers, and other providers.
  • Assist youth in accessing and utilizing community resources.
  • Understand and comply with policies, procedures, documentation and paperwork for EPSDT Medi-Cal billing, meet billing requirements as set by the agency.
  • Comply with WestCoast and California state Boards' requirements pertaining to supervision, consultation and case conference attendance.
  • Provide services in the community, for which travel by car is necessary.
  • Participate in agency and program meetings and professional development trainings as required.
  • Work proactively with the program director to ensure the strength of the program.The ideal candidates have---
    • Bilingual ability in Spanish (spoken and written).
    • An advanced degree (Master's or Doctorate) in clinical psychology, social work or related field required. Current CA Board of Behavioral Science or Board of Psychology license and/or registration.
    • California License Preferred (LCSW, LMFT, Licensed Psychologist). Based on our funding sources, California Department of Mental Health requires all unlicensed psychologists to apply for a professional licensing waiver or show proof of a valid waiver prior to hire date.
    • Direct clinical experience working with transition age and high-risk youth.
    • Demonstrated clinical experience with foster care, DCFS, and community mental health.
    • Proven effectiveness working with clients who have complex traumatic histories and attachment difficulties.
    • Knowledge of child and adolescent development, trauma, chemical dependency and dual diagnosis.
    • Knowledge and self-awareness of issues of race, class, and ethnicity; experience in working with diverse communities.
    • Ability to operate independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
    • Knowledge of Medi-Cal reimbursement procedures and billing.
    • Prior knowledge and experience with EHR such as Welligent, preferred
    • Excellent communication skills: written and verbal.
    • Commitment to completing high quality and timely documentation, meeting agency deadlines.
    • Ability to be supportive and provide guidance in a non-judgmental manner
    • Bilingual clinicians and clinicians of color are strongly encouraged to apply. Position details and compensation: This is a full-time, exempt position reporting to the TAYS Program Director. Salary range for this position is $54,000-$64k+ annually depending on experience and current licensure status, plus a 4% language differential and sign-on bonus.
