with experience in the philanthropic and social services areas.
This is a hybrid, full-time role that offers the flexibility to
work remotely and onsite out of our Oakland office. The Role: You
will help refine and develop new HR procedures, strategies, and
systems in collaboration with other managers. You'll also work on
projects such as job design, recruitment, employee relations,
performance management, training & development, and talent
management.What we are looking for:
- Proven working experience as HR Manager
- People oriented and results driven
- Demonstrable experience with Human Resources metrics a
plus
- Knowledge of HR systems and databases a plus
- Ability to architect strategy along with leadership skills
- Excellent active listening, negotiation, and presentation
skills
- Competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal
relationships at all levels
- Strong cultural awareness and sensitivity, and extensive
experience working successfully to support staff that reflect a
range of different backgrounds.
- Preferred: Degree in Human Resources or related field
- Plus: Experience providing HR services for companies in the
research or professional services fields
- Confidentiality: Handling sensitive employee information with
care.
- Critical listening: Discerning what people are saying, but also
what they are not saying.
- Mediation: Gracefully calming a room or a person.
- Persuasion: Rallying employees behind an idea or
initiative.
- DEI lens and experience: Understanding and embracing diversity,
equity and inclusion principles and sensitively imbuing them into
policies, procedures, and practices.The Role:
- Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned
with the overall business strategy
- Bridge management and employee relations by addressing demands,
grievances, or other issues
- Manage the recruitment, selection, and onboarding
processes
- Support current and future business needs through the
development, engagement, motivation, and preservation of human
capital
- Develop and monitor overall HR strategies, systems, tactics,
and procedures across the organization
- Nurture a positive working environment
- Oversee and manage a performance appraisal system that drives
high performance
- Salary surveys to ensure SPR offers competitive
compensation
- In collaboration with division leadership, assess professional
development (PD) needs and monitor use of such resources
- Report to management and provide decision support through HR
metrics
- Oversee SPR company-wide events
- Ensure legal compliance throughout human resource managementThe

location in Oakland also allows us to be in close contact with many

SPR is following all current, applicable state and county health
and operating orders, and this position may not have immediate
access to the physical SPR office. Other Information: In this role,
you can expect to work in an office environment; occasional lifting
up to 40 lbs; frequent telephone usage; extensive computer use; use
