Job Description:

Orion Solutions is working with a large transportation company operating on the West Coast, specializing in drayage and transloading services. They engage in international and intermodal drayage, offering transportation service of both imported and domestic merchandise, dry and refrigerated, for maritime and rail/intermodal customers. Our client is seeking a Payroll Clerk to join their team in Oakland, CA. While being in this role you will undertake a variety of tasks such as entering payroll information, calculating wages, and assisting with benefit enrollment.

Responsibilities

  • Payroll processing: on a bi-weekly basis: verify timecards, update employee data and deductions, process reimbursements, additional earnings, stipends, garnishments, etc.
  • Benefit Administration: assist with enrollment in health, flexible spending and retirement accounts. Update records and submit deposits on a bi-weekly basis for 100 employees.
  • Payroll reconciliation: assist with reconciling payroll reports on a bi-weekly basis.
  • General administrative support and special projects as assigned.

    Qualifications:

    • 2+ years payroll experience required.
    • Candidate must have solid computer skills (outlook, excel, etc.).
    • Strong organizational skills a must. The ideal candidate will possess strong attention to detail and accuracy.
    • This position requires someone with a high level of integrity and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion
