Our employment services are based on the Individual Placement and
Support (IPS) model of supported employment and serve individuals
with serious mental illness and /or behavioral health conditions
find work at regular jobs of their choosing. Services include Job
development with employers, job search with participants and job
retention to support participants with maintaining their job. In
addition to providing employment services the Employment Specialist
is part of a mental health rehabilitation team, promotes employment
as a critical part of recovery within the agency and contributes to
meeting fidelity to the IPS model. The Employment Specialist works
collaboratively with participants to identify areas of employment
interest, develop their soft skills to improve interpersonal
interactions at work and in the community and work related skills
such as resume building, applying for jobs, mock interviewing and
dressing for success!
Change a participant's life by collaborating to identify meaningful
work in jobs of their choosing and in doing so, increase their
well-being. Employment can be a critical part of their recovery and
using the Individual Placement and Support (IPS) model, you will
work with candidates to find the right job, build their resume,
conduct mock interviews, reviewing dress codes, polish their
on-the-job interpersonal skills and by doing so increase their
success rate at the job.
Our employment services focus on working collaboratively with
participants to increase their confidence and wellness through
work. Using the Individual Placement and Support (IPS) model, the
Employment Specialist (ES) will work with participants to identify
areas of employment interest, develop their soft skills to improve
interpersonal interactions at work and in the community and develop
work related skills such as resume building, learning how to apply
for jobs, preparing for interviews and how to dress for success!
The services provided by the ES will also include Job development
with employers, job search with participants and job retention to
support participants with maintaining their job. In addition to
providing employment services the ES will be part of a mental
health rehabilitation team and will promote employment as a
critical part of recovery within the program and the agency.
Full Time; Days/Shift TBD?
Wage range $22 - 28.71 (DOE) - Starting pay is commensurate with
relevant experience above the minimum requirements.?
What You Bring To The Table (Key Qualifications -see Job
Description for more details)?
- B.A. Degree from accredited college or university or equivalent
years of related work experience.
- Demonstrated cultural responsiveness in working with diverse
families and communities.
- Demonstrated understanding of the developmental milestones of
children, youth, or young adults to provide to provide care,
treatment, and services.
- Valid California Driver's License is required with a clean
driving record or ability to obtain within 10 days after hire.
- (Preferred): A minimum of two (2) years post-college experience
working with or providing mental health counseling to teens or
transition age youth living with mental illness,
developmental/intellectual disability, and/or severe emotional
disturbance, often with unstable housing situations.
