Your Role As a developer dedicated to the Digital, Marketing, and
Customer Care portfolio, you will be a critical member of the
Personalization and Engagement Marketing product team whose mission
is to support and enhance key strategic technology platforms. In
this role, you will be supporting the Salesforce Marketing Cloud
platform. This includes partnering with key stakeholders from both
technology and business to monitor, enhance, identify improvements,
and expand the capabilities of this platform to deliver mission
critical business solutions. Further, you will also build/support
required back-end connectors to other systems and provide relevant
data to downstream dependent systems.This position reports to the
Reporting Manager within the portfolio and works collaboratively
with the technology product manager. This role can be filled in our
Oakland, CA headquarters, in our El Dorado Hills, CA office, or in
our Woodland Hills, CA office. We also offer a flexible work
program that allows an employee to have the option to work from
home. Your WorkIn this role, you will:
- Configure the Salesforce Marketing Cloud platform to meet
business needs
- Elicit Blue Shield's requirements related to the Salesforce
Marketing Cloud platform, develop technical
strategies/configurations to meet those requirements, and demo
solutions to all stakeholders
- Facilitate discussions between the Salesforce and the Blue
Shield teams to implement proposed enhancements as needed to meet
business requirements
- Develop documentation of current processes and future
enhancements
- Maintain email templates within the Salesforce Marketing Cloud
platform
- Develop timelines and development goals to meet business needs
and provide transparency between Blue Shield and Salesforce
stakeholders
- Ensure platform stability by testing, monitoring, and other
methods
- Continually evaluate the platform's capabilities to align with
Blue Shield's needs
- Communicate any issues/bugs within the platform to Salesforce
and ensure that business-driven email campaigns are working as
expected
- Troubleshoot issues and develop solutions in
collaboration/coordination with the Salesforce support team
- Understand and assess the impact of Salesforce Marketing
Cloud's platform roadmap and product lifecycle to ensure platform
stability/continuity and communicate with Blue Shield's
stakeholders regarding the platform's capabilities
- Validate data flows and data dependencies with other
applications to ensure necessary data is flowing to the Salesforce
Marketing Cloud platform
- Ensure proper security protocols are in place to protect
patient data and any other personally identifiable information in
accordance with company policies
- Partner with other internal and/or technical team such as
Quality Engineering, Networking, Security, etc to ensure proper
functioning of the platform
- Provide recommendations on platform or process optimization
opportunities
- Understand the business roadmap and assess platform
capabilities to meet those requirements Qualifications -
ExternalKnowledge and Experience
- Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Requires at least 5 years of experience in computer related
support field
- Requires a thorough knowledge of the Salesforce Marketing Cloud
platform
- Requires prior experience implementing and/or maintaining
Salesforce Marketing Cloud
- Experience utilizing Journey Builder with thorough
understanding of Audience Builder configuration preferred
- Experience with Email Studio, Journey Builder, MobileStudio,
Automation studio preferred
- Salesforce Marketing Cloud Email Specialist, Salesforce
Marketing Cloud Consultant, or other applicable Salesforce
certifications preferred
- Experience with SQL and robust understanding of Marketing
Cloud's contact data model preferred
- Experience in developing/deploying Java-based Services and
working knowledge of relational databases (i.e. Oracle)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively with non-technical personnel Our
