Through strong collaboration and partnership with our clients, we deliver technology solutions in a timely and efficient manner.Position SummaryThe Senior Manager of Business Technology will report to the Director of IT SAP and Corporate Services and manages a team of 16 employees and 30+ contractors, and; overseas IT services that include planning, development, implementation, and support for systems, and; is accountable for the major program and project delivery in support of technology used by the business. This includes running a multi-year program to drive the Modernization of PG&Es current SAP HCM, Time and Payroll, Learning, and Compensation solutions. The role will need to align business units on process standardization, consolidation, and limiting customizations on the new SAP SuccessFactors and S4 systems, and; is responsible for aligning the IT strategy, services, investment decisions, and delivery structures and processes with the business units and enterprise IT direction and business objectives. This position leads the organization that is driving the use of product design and agile methods of delivering solutions working in close collaboration with various lines of business at PG&E (People, Compliance & Ethics, Regulatory Affairs, Academy and Enterprise Risk), and; is the IT liaison who manages the business relationships with senior leaders across these functional teams.Job Responsibilities

  • Accountable for overall portfolio performance and recommends changes in investment mix to achieve goals; uses reporting tools to monitor portfolio activities, and regularly brief IT and business leaders on portfolio performance
  • Accountable for the assessment of risks and the execution of plans to mitigate the risks
  • Achieve results through others by setting and communicating goals and metrics, monitoring progress; providing ongoing coaching and feedback, and reinforcing behaviors that drive high performance
  • Acts as a liaison and conduit for information flow between the department team and the rest of the IT and business community, as well as with appropriate external stakeholders; manage the efficient and effective resolution of issues
  • Collaborates with other teams in the delivery and sharing of concepts to leverage across portfolios
  • Communicates and champions the requirements necessary to execute the IT portfolio
  • Develops and manages service level agreements with business partners
  • Develops, prioritizes, coordinates, and communicates the goals and processes necessary for implementing the portfolio and critical projects
  • Ensures compliance with Standards/regulations and governance processes
  • Ensures managers are meeting department objectives that are aligned with organization goals. Implements PG&E practices for staffing, EEO, diversity, performance management, development, reward and recognition, and retention
  • Ensures staff has the resources and skills needed to support all projects and barriers are removed
  • Establishes Development Plans for Managers and/or supervisors, principals, and experts
  • Lead a competent, motivated, and qualified staff of employees, which includes performance management, development, coaching, and resolution of operational issues
  • Manages a team of managers and/or supervisors, principals, and experts
  • Manages and executes communications plans with multiple levels of business partners
  • Manages the identification, analysis, valuation, and execution of system investments for project delivery and support operations; manages the execution of technology roadmaps
  • Manages the successful implementation of new/enhanced systems on time, in scope, and within budget
  • Oversees analyses of asset deployment, use, and acquisition, and dispose of nonperforming assets; evaluates and assesses risks as part of the life cycle analysis of portfolio components
  • Provides oversight for key vendor relationships
  • Provides performance feedback and guidance to staff
  • Reviews and recommends sourcing strategies for projects, and works with business-unit and appropriate IT personnel to ensure the distribution of IT resources and to set priorities based on business goalsQualificationsMinimum:
    • Minimum of B.A./B.S. degree or equivalent work experience in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, Engineering, or other relevant field required.
    • 8 or more years of experience with progressively responsible IT and/or business process architecture and leadership positions in a relevant area of supportDesired:
      • Masters Degree in Business Administration or job-related discipline or equivalent experience
      • Leading projects teams or new business opportunity evaluation in a variety of environments is highly desired
      • Experience management of highly specialized, high-impact, and complex projects, systems, and teams
      • PMI-Project Management Institute PMP-Project Management Professional certificationKnowledge, Skills, Abilities, Competencies:
        • Knowledge of Human Resources and Compliance Management business processes and experience in working with business leaders on defining mutual goals to improve business KPIs
        • Knowledge of SAP products, solutions, services, and experience in delivering and supporting complex SAP installations
        • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of all SAP modules, specifically SAP HCM, Payroll, Success Factors, Fieldglass, and SAP BW
        • Knowledge of MetricStream products, solutions, and services
        • Knowledge of S4HANA and SAP Business Networks (Ariba, Concur, SuccessFactors, FieldGlass) and experience with digital transformation
        • Knowledge of Hyperscaler cloud products, solutions, and services (eg. AWS, Azure)
