Job Description:

The platform team at Sentry is responsible for the following infrastructure components:

• Ingestion pipeline: This component ingests billions of events with sub-second latency. Currently, it uses RabbitMQ and Celery. As we scale, you will help build and maintain a new streaming platform using Apache Kafka. You will collaborate with product and engineering leads to realize this vision.
• Data stores: We primarily use ClickHouse to store and query terabytes of data. You will work on optimizing ClickHouse for efficient querying and ingestion. Additionally, we use PostgreSQL and Redis for caching. This role provides an opportunity to demonstrate expertise in database management.If you seek a high-impact role involving building and maintaining infrastructure for large-scale data use cases, this position offers the chance to work with top engineering talent and contribute to a product loved by millions worldwide.In this role, you will:

• Build a new analytics platform and expand the Stateful Services Platform for world-class data delivery.
• Architect and automate scalable services and systems.
• Make architectural decisions balancing product and engineering needs.
• Maintain and enhance code quality through reviews and design contributions.
• Lead design discussions on team deliverables.
• Improve codebase accessibility within the domain of the Stateful Services Platform.Examples of projects our team has worked on:
  • Distributed and replicated data storage systems.
  • Experience with Python or similar dynamic languages.
  • Familiarity with systems we leverage (list specific systems if available).Candidates should have excellent communication skills to articulate technical concepts clearly. The position is based in the San Francisco Bay Area or requires relocation. The salary range is $175,000 to $215,000, influenced by experience, education, location, and skills.
