We are nationally recognized pioneers in asbestos litigation and currently interviewing Legal Assistants to join our Oakland, California based team.The Legal Assistants provides a broad range of administrative support to a litigation team by assisting in the preparation of materials related to case litigation.DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Assists Paralegals and other team membersFiling of case documentsProcess service of documents, including electronic servicePreparation of documents for court filingsCompleting court runsCreation of deposition and trial bindersReviewing and summarizing documentsSummarizing depositionsCommunicating with clients, as neededOther duties as assigned.SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:Excellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion with minimal instructions and supervisionAbility to meet deadlines in a pressured environmentComputer literacy of software programs including Outlook, Word, Summation, Excel and others requiredExcellent word processing skillsExcellent online and other computer-related research skills TRAINING & EXPERIENCE:Prior experience working in a legal environment or as a legal assistant preferredBachelor's or advanced degree; orHigh school diploma or GED, minimum of 3 years of law related experienceHow to Apply:Interested candidates should send a cover letter and resume to the attention of the Human Resources Manager at careers@kazanlaw.com.
