About this position:You would provide one on one support to adults with developmental disabilities in their home and throughout their community. East Bay Innovations supports clients in Alameda County and Contra Costa County. We provide support to a diverse age group of adults with various support needs. Your goal would be to provide respectful, personal, and motivating services that enable our clients to participate in all aspects of their community, and lead meaningful lives centered around independence and empowerment. During the Shelter In Place, we are supporting EBI clients to limit the amount of exposure to the virus. As an agency we are working to decrease the amount of time our clients go into the community and find more activities to do in the client's home.This job is a great way to gain experience in the non-profit sector, social work, social services, occupational therapy, mental health, or healthcare. You would get to spend your day supporting clients with:Emotional support and companionshipExercise and walks around their neighborhoodArts and craft projectsZoom eventsConnecting with friends and loved ones virtuallyPlanning and cooking mealsLight cleaningPersonal/intimate careWheelchair transfersGrocery shopping and other errands Modified, using delivery or pick up services.When the Shelter In Place ends:Accessing community activities, such as volunteering, classes, etcMaking plans with friends and familiesWork Schedule:If you're a student, or someone seeking part-time work or non-traditional hours, this may be the perfect fit for you. This position starts at part-time with opportunities to grow to full-time. We support clients throughout Alameda County.
