Business Coordinator

Company: Everlaw
Location: Oakland
Posted on: June 6, 2021

Job Description:

Everlaw is seeking a Business Coordinator to join our Administrative Team (i.e. "office of the CEO"). You will work closely with the Business Lead to support our day-to-day executive operations, assist with cross-functional projects, report on the performance of the business, and provide comprehensive support to our Leadership Team -- contributing meaningfully towards building a company that promotes justice by illuminating truth. We're seeking a highly-motivated, creative problem solver with a relentless desire to deliver quality results in an independent and fast-paced work environment. Our desired candidate is someone who is analytical, process-oriented, and has exceptional attention to detail, communication skills, and technical fluency. This position would be a good fit for someone new to corporate environments who is interested in joining a fast-growing startup and helping it scale -- all the while developing their own skills and gaining exposure to different areas of the business!

At Everlaw, our mission is to promote justice by illuminating truth. Our company culture is open and democratic and we're committed to the professional growth of our team members, offering an annual learning and development stipend and regular check-ins with managers regarding career goals. If you're looking for a place that values passion, integrity, thinking big, and a desire to learn, we'd love to hear from you! Think you're missing some of the skills and are hesitant to apply? We do not believe in the 'perfect' candidate and encourage you to apply if you feel you can bring value to our team.

This is a full-time, non-exempt position located onsite in Oakland, California.

In this role, you will

  • Provide a wide range of complex administration and support to the Leadership Team, comprised of 8 VPs, our GC, and the CEO
  • Serve as the point of contact for calendar management for the Leadership Team (e.g. scheduling check-ins, annual reviews, 1:1s)
  • Plan, schedule, and manage logistics for external meetings, offsites, speaking engagements, conferences, and board meetings for the Leadership Team
  • Provide project coordination support for cross-functional organizational and operational projects, as needed
  • Assist in drafting presentations, reports, and newsletters, including compiling project updates, collecting data from across the organization, and conducting market research
  • Learn, grow, and contribute right away. We trust that you will bring experience and knowledge that will uplift the team, but we don't expect you to know everything on Day 1. You will have time to develop your general business knowledge, legal market expertise, and product knowledge that will give you the skills and experience to grow in this role!

In the first year, you will...

  • Support improvements to systems and processes to streamline operations and assist with the selection and implementation of technology tools to build scalable workflows and processes
  • Help to measure and report on key metrics that demonstrate the health of the business, collaborating with internal teams to create dashboards and improve data hygiene
  • Build strong relationships with team members across the organization in order to influence outcomes and drive results

About you

  • You enjoy being a generalist and are eager to collaborate with various stakeholders from both business and technical teams
  • You have exceptional oral and written communication skills that show enthusiasm, energy, and poise
  • You are comfortable in a fast-paced environment and are resourceful and proactive in dealing with any challenges that may arise
  • You are organized, detail-oriented, and process-driven and can successfully manage multiple competing responsibilities at the same time
  • You have a willingness to roll up your sleeves and pitch in to help others to achieve the team's end goals and a ability to shift tasks and roles to accomplish these goals
  • You think critically with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • You are familiar with modern software and consider yourself technically proficient
  • BA or BS degree preferred
  • You are authorized to work in the United States; please note that at this time, Everlaw is not sponsoring visas for any positions
