Job Description:

Job Summary:

The incumbent will seek, recognize, and successfully act upon opportunities to make environmental stewardship part of Kaiser Permanente's operating philosophy. She/he will leverage KPs current standing as a leader in environmental performance and will optimize KPs ability to affect positive change in reducing health risks associated with environmental factors (i.e., toxins, greenhouse gas emissions) with special attention to communities disproportionately impacted by climate change and environmental degradation. The incumbent will identify and overcome internal barriers to performance and will develop programs to enable integration of programs and practices into KPs business units. Manage through distributed accountability that has been core to the success of KPs environmental programs to date. This approach places accountability for achieving targets within the functions closest to the work, while the incumbent retains accountability for overall achievement of KPs environmental goals. For example, renewable energy targets are the accountability of National Facilities Services, and environmentally preferable purchasing is the accountability of the Buy to Pay organization. The incumbent will fully leverage the expertise and executive leadership of all the related functions while providing expertise and consultation in organizing and ensuring collective success.

Identify and exploit external marketing and communication strategies that demonstrate commitment to corporate environmental principles and are consistent with KPs brand positioning.
