POSITION The Regional Development Coordinator (RDC) is an essential contributor on the growing Leading Educators' Development team. Under the direction of the Director of Regional Development and in conjunction with the Manager of Development, the Regional Development Coordinator serves in the critical position to support strong fundraising execution of foundation, annual, and major gifts strategies, stewardship, and relationship management. The RDC will work collaboratively with national development team members and regional development leads to ensure efficient data management, moves management, gift processing, and research on current and prospective donors. The RDC will also lead annual giving campaigns which invest donors in Leading Educators' mission through personalized connection with instructional leaders and the opportunity to learn from those leading the work of educational equity in classrooms, schools, and the broader education system. The ideal candidate will be passionate for the job with the ability to be able to organize, prioritize and track a large volume of projects and tasks, possess exceptional attention to detail and a high bar for quality, be a critical thinker who displays sound judgment in prioritizing actions based on outcomes, and have an ability to receive and incorporate feedback constructively. RESPONSIBILITIES: FUNDER IDENTIFICATION, CULTIVATION, AND STEWARDSHIPS OF REGIONAL FOUNDATIONS & INDIVIDUAL GIVING (40%) Work closely with the DRD in identifying, cultivating and stewarding current and prospective donors: Contributes to the development of fundraising goals and objectives and constructs mechanisms to track progress, coordinate work plans/work flows and measure results Maintains real time tracking of regional development activity that is readily available to and easily communicated with Managing Directors of Networks Monitors proposal deadlines, supports the preparation and editing of proposals, and drives proposal submissions Designs collateral, preliminary goals, roles, and outcomes for funder meeting preparation; this includes presentation decks, gathering previously prepared LE external documents, determining the baseline talking points for the meeting in collaboration with Director of Regional Development Provides end to end support managing philanthropic partnerships with place-based funders, including, but not limited to timelines, revenue and program outcomes Builds internal capacity of Director of Regional Development and Regional Development Leads to increase proposal activity DONOR RELATIONSHIP SYSTEMS MANAGEMENT AND PROJECT MANAGEMENT (30%) Maintain and continuously update accurate donor information (background research, biography, etc.) records as well as records of communication and engagement (event attendance, meetings/calls) for each donor in the portfolio, supporting strong donor stewardship and relationship management Maintains a schedule of contacts, leads and prospects and support the moves management planning around those sources In alignment to national process for qualifying prospects, research potential funding opportunities within focus regions and assess in alignment with Leading Educators' core values and mission Create, document, and refine standardized processes and templates for proposals SPECIAL PROJECTS (5%) Leads planning & execution of regional giving days Supports planning & facilitation of team meetings Supports proposal & report writing GIFT MANAGEMENT (5%) Manage processing for gifts from all individual donors, including thorough documentation and timely thank you notes and acknowledgment letters LOGISTICS, ADMINISTRATION & MANAGEMENT (20%) Manages Regional Development work plans Create, document, and refine standardized processes and templates for proposals Designs logistics for cross-team collaborations (grant kickoff calls, concept reviews for considerations of new funding opportunities requiring new work, etc.) Provides support to Development staff by serving as the primary point of contact for both internal and external stakeholders regarding pipeline, fundraising efforts, department logistics and administrative tools Ensures consistency and quality of all Development team collateral and communications, including but not limited to Powerpoints, handouts, Google docs, and email/online content Coordinates logistics for fundraising and cultivation events including funder meetings and site visits Collect and synthesize relevant statistics, stories, and anecdotes to be used by the team in tailoring donor pitches and meeting materials CROSS-TEAM COLLABORATION Work closely with DRD, national development team, regional development leads, and Communications team to plan and track against a sequence of communications, actions and events for each donor in the portfolio to increase their understanding of and commitment to LE Collaborate with the Regional Development Leads and Communications team to develop external development language and materials and assess funding landscape of prospective donors QUALIFICATIONS The ideal candidate has a demonstrated commitment to improving urban education. In addition, the candidate must be willing to work evenings and weekends and travel to support program events. The candidate should also possess and/or be willing to develop the following: Excellent written, verbal and presentation communication skills Excellent organizational and project management skills Outstanding problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and ambitious deadlines simultaneously Service and collaboration oriented Self-motivated with ability to anticipate and take initiative to work independently or collaboratively as needed Ability to learn quickly and succeed in rapidly changing environment Focus on details and seamless logistics to deliver quality results LOCATION Flexible location, with a preference for Atlanta, Georgia, Baltimore, Maryland; Chicago, Illinois; New Orleans, Louisiana; or Oakland, California COMPENSATION Compensation is competitive, commensurate with experience. In addition, Leading Educators offers a very generous benefits package including 100% paid medical, dental, and vision coverage for individual employees. Additional premium costs are covered 60% by Leading Educators for partners and dependents on medical, dental, and vision plans. We also offer a 4% matching 401k plan, Flexible Spending Accounts for medical, childcare and commuter expenses, and an Employee Assistance Program (EAP). Benefits are valued at or above $8,000 for employees. Additionally, Leading Educators offers generous time off with pay in order to support a sustainable high performance work culture. During the first three years of employment, full time staff accrue 22 days a year. Five additional days are accrued after the third and sixth year of employment. Leading Educators also offers 16 additional paid days off for various holidays, including three floating holidays staff may use at their discretion.
