Medtronic Diabetes is transforming its business to adapt to this change and create meaningful differentiation to drive customer preference and revenue growth.The Senior Director - Commercial Transformation will lead transformation initiatives across Medtronic Diabetes Americas Region. This highly visible role will develop strategic goals, identify and prioritize major opportunities for improved performance and optimization, and oversee the development of roadmaps for implementation for the Diabetes business. This leader will report to the Vice President of Commercial Strategy and Execution.The role is highly dynamic, requiring strong management and leadership skills, and the ability to oversee and execute on multiple areas of work simultaneously. The role is expected to develop long-term strategic relationships with a wide array of stakeholders and leverage existing relationships within and across Medtronic. Strong collaboration and clear communication, including with senior executive leaders, are key. Success will depend on effectively influencing and negotiating across businesses and regions to drive alignment on objectives and clear paths to execution.The problems this role will tackle are complex and undefined, requiring consideration of a wide range of commercial, financial, and strategic inputs and variables that impact multiple areas of the organization. The role will provide team leadership and direction in uncharted territory, serving as a thought partner of the Diabetes Senior Staff. Managing a team of Transformation & Change Managers, the role will provide significant input to the foundational groundwork for the transformation effort, and then ensure progress, momentum, and timely course-correction if needed. The Director will also provide coaching and motivational support to the team to build a positive, enriching, high-performance culture where team members are able to thrive and grow.A Day in the LifeResponsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.* Leads or leverages cross functional teams to evaluate, develop and manage projects for key business processes.* Oversees and manages the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between project management and planning, project team, and line management.* Reviews status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports.* Monitors the project from initiation through delivery.* Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives.* Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, and clients.* Collaborate with leaders to understand and identify opportunities followed by collaboration to plan and execute prioritized improvement initiatives* Manage a team that leads major project work streams within large transformation programs and/or leads improvement programs* Define and build the governance mechanism to actively track transformation and change plans including schedules, budgets, resources, interdependencies and anticipated benefits* Define project resource requirements and negotiate team assignments with functional managers, as required* Maintain oversight of Transformation risks and mitigation plans to ensure business and project objectives are met* Challenge teams to meet and exceed project goals and commitments* Provide routine status communications to senior leadership and work with the Diabetes Communications team to ensure all change stories are created and shared with appropriate audiencesMust Have: Minimum Requirements* Bachelors degree required* Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience with 10 years of managerial experience , or Advanced Degree with a minimum 13 years prior relevant experience, minimum of 10 years of managerial experience* Relevant experience in management consulting, M&A, integration, supply chain, strategy, process improvement, finance and/or operational excellence* Project Management principles, concepts, practices and standards* Change Management principles, concepts, practices and standards* Experience providing work direction, coaching and guidance to project teams* Demonstrated ability to create and leverage influential networks - strong leadership and influence skills* Independent thinker, strong self-starter who takes initiative, and is comfortable with ambiguity* Excellent interpersonal skills to enable effective relationships across Medtronic's matrix-confident and assertive style, but respectful of others and team-oriented* Strong interpersonal and people management skills* Strong analytical and project management skills* Demonstrated results-orientationNice to Have* MBA and healthcare experience* Top-tier management consulting experience* Experience working with business process outsourcing, transition of work to vendors and/or shared services centers* Quantitative and data-driven analytical approach* Advanced degree, PMP, Six Sigma and/or Lean certification;* Change Management certification* Strong program management skills, with proven success in managing highly complex programs resulting in measurable improvement* Exceptional presentation, oral, and written communication skills and demonstrated ability to interface effectively with executive leaders, including C-Suite* Highly adaptable, adjusts style to maximize effectiveness with different audiences, and able to both influence and respond to changeAbout MedtronicTogether, we can change healthcare worldwide.
