Job Description: The Senior Institutional Giving Officer is responsible for managing a robust portfolio of current funders through the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of prospects in the $10,000 to $1,000,000+ range. #Populates aggressive pipeline that includes potential funders; corresponding capital, program, and research needs; anticipated solicitation amount and deadline. Submits at least 50 funding applications (letters of inquiry and proposals) each year. #Develops and implements cultivation and stewardship strategies for private, family, corporate, and community foundations.# Position Requirements: Minimum Education: Bachelor#s Degree Minimum Experience: #Minimum of five years institutional giving experience; #Demonstrated familiarity with prospect research; analysis and writing, cultivating, soliciting and stewarding prospects and donors; and Demonstrated knowledge and utilization of information systems to support fundraising activities. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:# Outstanding organizational and time management skills and strong research abilities; deadline-driven, with a commitment to excellent customer service and the ability to independently drive projects with multiple stakeholders; Excellent grant writing skills; ability to write grammatically correct, clear, structured, articulate, and persuasive LOIs, proposals, and cover letters;# Ability to build effective, collaborative relationships internally with medical center staff, physicians and externally with foundation program officers; Ability to assess programs and identify those with a strong potential for funding; Ability to synthesize appropriate levels of information about a broad range of health disciplines and interdisciplinary areas and clearly, concisely, and persuasively articulate information to funders; Ability to think strategically; Ability to maintain confidentiality on behalf of Foundation donors and colleagues; Understanding of major issues and trends in philanthropy; Strong interpersonal skills, self-confidence and assertiveness, diplomacy, teamwork, good judgment, and respect for confidentiality; and Willingness to travel outside the office, occasional evening and weekend work, and to adjust to other needs of the department.
