  • We believe the most innovative teams are inclusive of and celebrate all forms of diversity.About the RoleAs an entry-level Data Scientist, you will join a nimble team of engineers creating cutting-edge battery inspection equipment and software. You will be an integral part of analyzing the data produced by this equipment, developing a deeper understanding of the data's relationship to the battery's production history and performance, and creating tools and techniques to achieve those goals.On a typical day, you may: perform investigative analysis on experimental data and correlate those results with performance data; build analytics tools and visualizations to empower our engineers and customers; optimize, automate, and streamline our analytics pipeline, and integrate the pipeline with real-time data streams; or communicate your work to internal and external stakeholders with varied backgrounds.You value careful listening, thoughtful questions, and data-driven discussions. You are comfortable with gathering and distilling information to drive the direction of collaborative, open-ended projects.The ideal candidate will approach this work with a mixture of intellectual curiosity, thoughtful creativity, and methodical rigor.     • Analyze customer and in-house data to provide actionable insights.
    • Collaborate with our Engineering team to design and build data analysis and visualization tools that provide direct impact.
    • Become the expert at understanding how ultrasound analysis of batteries correlates with quality control metrics.
    • Help customers to make data-driven decisions to improve their manufacturing processes.
    • Design and evaluate predictive models to forecast battery performance.
    • Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and cross-functional teams to inform, influence and support product strategy decisions.
    • Play an active role in the development of Liminal's data processing pipeline.
    • Contribute to the development of Liminal's analysis software and libraries.RequirementsMinimum Requirements
      • Experience programming with the Python data-science stack (NumPy, SciPy, Pandas, Scikit-learn, Matplotlib)
      • Experience creating meaningful, informative data visualizations
      • Practical experience working with and comparing large datasets
      • Exposure to predictive modeling (Classification, Clustering, Dimensionality Reduction)
      • Basic understanding of statistical methodologies and applied skills, such as distributions, statistical testing, regression, etc.
      • Strong communication skills, with a knack for conveying findings to technical and non-technical audiences visually, verbally, and/or in writing
      • Ability to extract meaning from data and draw logical and coherent conclusions
      • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) or related fields
      • Must be willing to be on-site at least 2 days a week.Nice to haves
        • Experience with UI/UX design
        • Experience with common software engineering practices, including version control, documentation, and unit testing
        • Experience with Fourier and/or time-series analysis
        • Familiarity with the battery industry is a plus
        • Physical intuition about ultrasound data, or experience with real-world dataBenefits
