Overview:
Come join a dynamic care team at LifeLong Medical Care. We are
looking for a full time Purchasing Coordinator -in Oakland. The
Purchasing Coordinator will be responsible for learning company
purchasing policies and procedures, placing material orders for
sites to maintain effective company operation. This individual will
also be charged with conducting regular price comparisons and
negotiating deals with potential vendors to ensure that the company
is always getting the best price for each product that is
purchased. -This is a full time, 40 hours/week, benefit eligible
position. Compensation: $20/hour. -LifeLong Medical Care is a
large, multi-site, Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) with a
rich history of providing innovative healthcare and social services
to a wonderfully diverse patient community. Our patient-centered

Responsibilities:
Develops and maintains ordering system for medical and office
supplies, and equipment through a variety of sources and vendors,
per the policies of LifeLong Medical Care.Trains LifeLong staff
involved in the purchasing process.Conducts price reviews and
comparisons on an ongoing basis.Maintains Purchase Order system
with linkage to accounts payable.Ensures that all supply-related
paperwork flows from sites to account for orders and that invoices
are processed in a timely manner.Collaborates with directors and
identified staff regarding site supplies including Processes
returns and ensures accurate account credit.Supplies and equipment
inventories. Maintains the inventory logs for each site and updates
annually.Maintains vendor contracts and agreements for vendors and
also a strong working relationships.Stay up to date with industry
trends and establish long-term purchasing arrangements with vendors
when it is beneficial to the company.Compare product deliveries
with issued purchase orders and contact vendors when there are
discrepancies.Review purchasing agreements with vendors and
maintain open lines of communications with those vendors.Develop an
active process for measuring supply inventory and determining
purchasing needs based on quarterly and annual numbers.Compare

Qualifications:
Skills in organization, supervision, communication (both oral and
written), and interpersonal relationships.Ability to work with
people from a wide range of backgrounds.Strong computer skills with
ability to navigate and utilize internet medication and product
ordering websites effectively. Word-processing, Spreadsheet, and
Data Entry preferred.Ability to lift ten pounds and move items that
may be heavy or awkward in a safe manner.Education/ExperienceHigh
School diploma or GED.Two years work experience in a
Purchasing/Ordering Department preferably in a medical setting.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.Proven history of
effective supply management.Able to create and administer a task
priority list based on company needs.
