Performs all Magnetic Resonance Imaging procedures. ESSENTIAL
FUNCTION: 1. Performs all MRI examinations. 2. Coordinates with
Radiologists to select protocols for each patients scan. 3.
Maintains order and cleanliness in work areas. 4. Archives scans to
various modalities. 5. Administers contrast media as required. 6.
Responsible for referring to, and complying with, the standard
protocol manual. Any deviation from the standard protocol shall be
made only with permission of the radiologist. 7. Must be flexible
for department work schedule. 8. Positions and transfers patients
in a comfortable and safe manner. 9. Ensures that patient and
family members have been screened properly and are safe to enter
MRI suite. 10. Maintains records of examination data and other
pertinent information on patients. 11. Keeps current on computer
skills and is able to enter patient information to complete exam.
12. Prepares the patient, explains the procedure, and ensures
patients cooperation during the examination; collects any forms
that are pertinent to the procedure. 13. Works with Child Life to
ensure patient cooperation. 14. Uses a variety of
patient-supporting and immobilization equipment according to
nursing and physician instruction. 15. Understands, supports,
promotes, and adheres to the Customer-Service philosophy and
standards of Children's Hospital & Research Center at Oakland. 16.
Understands the basics of CR imaging and PACs technology. SECONDARY
FUNCTIONS: 1. Actively participates in continued professional
growth by continuing education and involvement in professional
organizations. 2. Promote positive relations between self, staff,
and radiologists. 3. Assists in inventory control and the ordering
of supplies. 4. Facilitates patient care and supports nursing staff
and anesthesiologists. 5. Stocks rooms 6. Starts IVs when certified
to do so.
ARRT - Required BLS - Required CQI Team Experience - Required CRT -
Required Epic Experience - Highly desired Meditech Experience -
Highly desired MRI Tech Certification - Highly desired
English( Speak, Read, Write )
Graduate of AMA-approved School of Diagnostic Radiologic Technology
. Certification from the State of California as a Radiologic
Technologist. Evidence of continuing education in the Science of
Radiologic Technology. CPR Certified.
Minimum Degree Required: Completed High School (Diploma or GED)
Start Date: 09/26/2022
End Date: 12/24/2022
Schedule Notes: 40 hours/week, Tuesday-Saturday Anticipated
duration is 6 months, but will extend after 1st 3 months. "We have
a Philips 3T MRI trailer expected to be completed in December and
are currently short staffed in MRI. "
