JOB DESCRIPTION

This EDI Configuration Supervisor is responsible for the supervision of a team of analysts charged with implementing electronic file feeds across the enterprise. This position provides technical recommendations to the team on resolutions to development/production problems and ensures effective data exchanges within and outside the organization. This role will also act as a liaison between the business and Delta IT for any Enterprise initiatives related to the exchange of electronic data for enrollment/claims.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee a team of EDI Analysts in all facets of day-to-day operations; this includes coding, supporting new file processing requirements and development, assisting in resolving external group issues, and reviewing outputs and processes to ensure the highest level of accuracy and efficiency is being accomplished by the team
  • Serve as a technical resource for direct reports as well as for the EDI function as a whole, including other EDI leaders
  • Act as SME representing EDI in feasibility reviews; provide direction to Sales/Onboarding teams in handling unique requirements to for enrollment/billing/claims/reporting needs
  • Analyze the electronic data interface (EDI) transaction process, including setup, configuration, and structure, to meet technical compliance standards and to ensure appropriate operating processes are followed
  • Collaborate with the Implementation team, Sales team and the customer to navigate through work sessions, business processing requirements, test cases, test data and test planning, and execution including validations; ensure all stakeholders understand, accept, and work to mitigate the impact of data quality deficiency and deviation from standards
  • Monitor workloads and staffing levels to ensure appropriate resources are available and allocated
  • Ensure that training is provided to all EDI staff on an ongoing basis and works with departmental and/or enterprise trainer to develop written training materials and procedures; regularly review Skill Flex Matrix and take necessary actions
  • Continuously evaluate processes to identify gaps and opportunities for process improvements; serve as project lead when implementing solutions based on findings
  • Proactively anticipate issues; identify root cause and work to implement resolutions
  • Manage or participate in special projects as required, including analysis and making recommendations

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • 5+ years as IC w/Associate's degree; 0+ years supervisory
    • Minimum of 6 years file processing experience required
    • Good organizational and time management skills with the ability to adhere to deadlines
    • Ability to multi-task while maintaining excellent attention to detail
    • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
    • Excellent analytical, logical reasoning, and problem-solving skills
    • Expert with ANSI standards, specifically the HIPAA 834 enrollment transaction from both a business rule (validation) and processing (translation) perspective; Must have the ability to support any file layout
    • Excellent customer service skills
    • Ability to perform in a high paced environment with multiple priorities
    • The ability to interact well with management, and all level of employees and outside contacts including vendors, consultants, auditors, etc.
      Base Pay Information

      The national base pay range is a good-faith estimate of what Delta Dental may pay for new hires. Actual pay may vary based on Delta Dental's assessment of the candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities (KSAs), related experience, education, certifications and ability to meet required minimum job qualifications. Other factors impacting pay include prevailing wages in the work location and internal equity. $74,000 - $170,900
