Clinical Training SpecialistJob Summary:The full-time Clinical
Training Specialist position is under the combined supervision of
Mental Health and Quality Assurance. The Training Specialist is a
"go to" person who needs to be very well organized, self-motivated,
reliable, and highly detailed-oriented. They must have the ability
to work well with other professionals in a collaborative and
cooperative manner. As a member of the Mental Health and Quality
Assurance team, the Clinical Training Specialist needs to be a team
player who thinks critically and strategically; communicates
effectively; is proactive and flexible.The Clinical Training
Specialist is responsible for supporting the Directors and Staff in
planning, coordinating, and implementing the organizations
strategies in quality assurance and continuous quality improvement
activities to ensure compliance with state, federal and local laws,
regulations, and contractual requirements for the mental health
programs. The Clinical Training Specialist provides direct support
to the mental health teams to ensure clinical staff are
well-prepared and competent in meeting their documentation
compliance and providing quality care to clients and families.The
Training Specialist will be based in our Fruitvale Office but will
work with all of our Mental Health Programs (Alameda, Contra Costa,
San Francisco, and Solano Counties).Qualifications:Registration
with the BBS required.LCSW/LMFT/LPCC strongly preferred.3-5 years
clinical experience working in either community based mental
health, wraparound, or residential settings with focus on
Medi-Cal/EPSDT billing required.Knowledge and ability to interpret
state regulations and requirements applicable to treatment and
reimbursement under Medi-Cal, EPSDT and other mental health party
payers.Ability to create and use PowerPoint slide presentations
and/or other means of presenting materials for training.Experience
training small and large groups.Ability to develop and maintain
organized systems.Must be very detail oriented, accurate and timely
with assigned tasks.Must possess great interpersonal skills,
excellent verbal and written communication skills.Ability to take
initiative, use good judgment and ask questions as needed.Ability
to establish and maintain effective working relationships with
staff and other agencies.Motivated, self-starter able to work in a
team environment.Must be able to maintain strict confidentiality of
various types of records including personnel, client, and clinical
information.Must possess independent means of transportation and
must travel between Agencys offices in Alameda, Contra Costa, San
Francisco and Solano Counties.Duties and Responsibilities:Provide
monthly training to staff on areas related to their electronic
health record, HIPAA, and systems work.Identify training needs for
clinical staff by collaborating with the Quality Assurance staff
and consultants.Develop training material to support clinicals
staff growth in assessment and treatment planning.Develop training
material that is customized to each countys documentation standards
and provide to corresponding staff.Provide training to all clinical
staff on a variety of topics including paperwork, evidence informed
practices.Develop and support clinical programs in understanding
how The Joint Commission policy and procedures impact client
care.Provide training to clinical staff in understanding County,
State, Federal, and The Joint Commission policy and
procedures.Provide 1:1 and small group consultation to clinical
staff around compliance and best practices.Track ongoing issues as
it relates to clinical charts or performance.Maintain working
knowledge and understanding of the agencys electronic health record
for mental health programs.Support clinical programs by developing
or updating existing clinical documentation guides.Assist in
special projects and other duties as assigned by Training Director
or Quality Assurance StaffWork with other agency departments to
ensure the flow of needed information.Work EnvironmentWhile
performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in
an office or telehealth setting.Physical DemandsThe physical

regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel, or
operate objects, tools or controls, and reach with hands and arms.

hear.Position Type/Expected Hours of WorkThis is a full-time,
exempt position. Days and hours of operation are Monday through
Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (subject to change to meet the
business needs).TravelLocal travel to various worksites is
required.Work Authorization/Security ClearanceEmployees must pass a
background check and receive TB and health clearances prior to
employment. Good driving record is required and will be checked
annually. Covid-19 vaccination required, including booster.A Better
