Job Description:
The Another Road to Safety Program has Parent Partners and
Family Support Specialists who work together to maintain child
safety, improve access to support services, and strengthen
families. The Parent Advocate Supervisor is a Community
Professional who has 1) a personal lived experience navigating the
Child Welfare system and 2) demonstrated the capacity to exhibit
leadership skills and seeks further development in honing those
skills. The Parent Advocate Supervisor has received training and
has demonstrated skills in how to mentor other families. The Parent
Advocate Supervisor has the skills, knowledge and professionalism
needed to work within a multi-disciplinary team dedicated to
providing culturally sensitive and family-friendly support to
families at risk of Child Welfare intervention.Role:Under the
supervision of the Program Director, the Parent Advocate Supervisor
you will provide mentorship support, and managerial oversight of
the Lead Parent Partner and the Parent Advocates. The Parent
Advocate Supervisor will offer coaching and firsthand knowledge
through their own experiences, and work collaboratively with the
Lead Parent Partner and Parent Advocates to provide linkage to
families in need of community resources that will assist them in
stabilizing their family. The Parent Advocate Supervisor also helps
to assure that the integrity of the individual family's culture is
fully integrated into every aspect of the care and support offered.
The Parent Advocate Supervisor makes sure that culturally sensitive
and family friendly engagement practices permeate all of our
program offerings. The Parent Advocate Supervisor serves as a
manager and works closely with Parent Advocates, Family Support
Specialists, Mental Health professionals and Social Services.Duties
and Responsibilities:Demonstrate a leadership role as part of the
ARS management team that includes the following:Participate in ARS
Leadership Team meetingsAssist in the execution of trainings for
ARS staffWill participate in corrective action plan for Lead Parent
Partner/Parent PartnersCoach Parent Advocates to outreach to
families at risk of child abuse and neglect and maintain ongoing
contact with client families and other service providers to monitor
service delivery and assess needs.Provide on call assistance to
staff.May participate in weekly home visits with all family members
participating in the programAssist the Lead Parent Partner and
Parent Advocates case management services to clients and
significant others as appropriate to support the client families,
including crisis intervention, referrals, etc.Develop familiarity
with outside agencies and service providers and maintain knowledge
of services they provide in order to support referred families to
ARS.Excellent writing skills needed to prepare written reports and
documentation of daily, weekly, monthly and annual reports.Assists
in the ongoing development and evaluation of the Lead Parent
Partner and Parent Partners.Participates in outreach and community
events as needed.Participates in related trainings and
workshops.Conduct weekly supervision with Parent Partners and Lead
Parent Partner.Communicate effectively with Family Advocates and
other members of the ARS Leadership Team.Prepare presentations and
training materials for Parent Partners.Other duties as
assigned.Qualifications:Required: A Biological parent/ Legal
guardian/ Adoptive parent that has lived experience and involvement
with the Department of Children & Family Services OR Another Road
to Safety Program. A Parent Advocate Supervisor must have
successfully completed the requirements of one of the service
programs below AND have had their dependency dismissed (FR, FM) or
case closed (ARS, IFM) for at least 1 year:Another Road to Safety

ReunificationExperience in community based social
servicesDemonstrate an understanding of child/adolescent
developmentHave an ability to engage with families from diverse
communitiesBi-lingual in Spanish preferredExhibit strong
organization skillsExcellent verbal and written skillsValid
California Driver's LicenseReliable transportation and proof of
insuranceFlexible scheduleExperience working with individuals from
diverse backgroundsAbility to pass background clearance and clear
TB Test
