As the Employee Relations and Talent Partner you will be responsible for employee relations as well as delivering talent programs. As part of a cross-functional team, you will work directly with team members, People and Engagement Business Partners and leaders. As part of our People and Engagement team, you will help design, manage and execute employee relations and talent programs. You will also partner closely with internal teams to solve business problems with talent interventions that are timely, relevant, accurate, audience-specific and measurable. We are looking for a strategic and creative thinker with strong collaboration skills who can move fast and help us develop programs that strengthen our employee experience and influence our employee's connection to Altais and each other.You Will Focus On:Employee Interventions:

  • Conduct thorough investigations into allegations of company policy violations with varying levels of complexities across multiple jurisdictions
  • Adhere to investigative best practices and protocols around gathering and preserving information, documentation, and report writing
  • Make appropriate remedial or disciplinary recommendations following an investigation
  • Manage Employee Relations cases by providing employee and manager coaching and counseling while ensuring consistent application and interpretation of company policies, practices and procedures
  • Provides advice and trains managers and supervisors in best employee relations practices and strategies for managing supervisor problems and employee concerns
  • Facilitate offboarding involuntary terminations and complete exit interviews
  • Complete stay interviews for at risk staff
  • Administer unemployment claimsEmployment Law Compliance and Reporting:
    • Partner closely with Legal, People & Engagement Business Partners, and other functional partners within the People Team to recommend and implement solutions
    • Build, analyze, and maintain Employee Relations metrics and review on a quarterly basis
    • Create insights from data to diagnose, design, and revise people programs, policies, and practices to maintain a fair and respectful workplace
    • Researches and explains laws and legal affairs concerning employment to managers, supervisors, and employees
    • Maintain Employee Relations files, database workflow and metrics for reporting, ensuring accuracy, effectiveness, and efficiencyEmployment Policy and Practice Administration:
      • Provide guidance to People & Engagement Business Partners on a myriad of issues, including policy interpretation and disciplinary actions, high-risk performance management, and other complex and sensitive employment matters
      • Own and manage annual People & Engagement policy review process, ensuring compliance with employment laws. Requires staying abreast of all employment law and working with key stakeholders to update policies or practices accordingly.
      • Stays up to date on employment laws and is able to identify and lead changes in policy and practices based on new legislature
      • Ensures HR policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance with state and federal laws; develops, recommends and implements human resources policies to meet organizational needs
      • Responsible for the annual review and update the employee handbookTalent and Organizational Development:
        • Partner with the Director, Talent and Organizational Development on creating, delivering and supporting talent programs at Altais (eg., Performance Excellence, Succession Planning, Leadership Development.)The Skills, Experience & Education You Bring:
          • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
          • Minimum of 7 years prior experience
          • Health care industry experience preferred
          • Maintain a creative, team-building, cooperative approach to job performance and seek to bring a constructive, problem-solving orientation to all tasks

Final determination of a successful candidate's starting pay will vary based on several factors, including, but not limited to education and experience within the job or the industry. The pay scale listed for this position is generally for candidates that meet the specified qualifications and requirements listed on this job description.
